We had been to H&M's over the years a couple of times and thouroughly enjoyed it so went again 5 years later a return trip from Boston this week. The waitstaff was fine but the food was close to abismal. The corn chowder, that they called corn soup, was good, an average corn potato cream with hints of bacon. My friends calamari was awful, he was really hungry and wolfed it down but I tried it and it was fishy in a watery broth ( just did NOT like the flavor- yuck)
Luckily still had corn 'soup' to block that flavor experience! The wine was great- Viogner- very nice, bread and evoo very nice. Seemed to take awhile for the main course and then it arrived. Never, have I had 'poached chicken' piccata! Everything on my plate had been cooked in water! Of course the pasta would be and steamed vegies ok, but the chicken?!?! ZERO flavor!!!! I even tried putting their parmesean on, THAT had zero flavor too! I am an original foodie. Growing up in Boston going to great restaraunts my whole life, have even been a professional yacht chef so I know food. My friends pasta sauce and meatballs were also wierd. A strange dried herb used in the sauce which was a weird bitter taste and the meatballs supposedly made from local grassfed beef - where's the beef?!?!? Tasted like ground tofu with breadcrumbs! He was too nice to send his back- we did not want to add insult to injury. Suffice it to say, a big waste to time and money. Sorry H&M overall you failed bigtime this time- for the record the oarty of four sitting across from us had a similar experience but packed theirs to go instead. Hope you learn from this H&M.

The food was pretty bland. The pasta was overcooked and the chicken tasted like it was microwaved after coming straight from the freezer. The garlic bread was decent and the salads and vegan patte were ok.

The wait staff was awesome. We showed up with our just-over-two-year-old daughter. I know there must have been a mild panic through the restaurant staff, but they graciously seated us in an out-of-the-way corner. The chef cut some apples and oranges for our daughter; food was brought out quickly and even the chef stopped out to see how our meal was.

Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Henry and Marty's was able to accommodate our late request for dinner so that we were able to treat our friends to one of the best meals Midcoast Maine has to offer...the best, by far, in Brunswick. "To-die-for" apps were followed by superb entrees in a bustling, upbeat atmosphere and served by a great staff. OK! Enough of my attempt to be a food critic...this is a great restaurant and you should go there at your first opportunity!

Aaron from Henry and Marty's just did the food for our wedding, and our guests were blown away. (We were, too!) Not only do they go out of their way to use local and seasonal produce, but it's so flavorful, unique, and exactly what we asked for - only better! The staff couldn't be more accommodating and kind, and they made our big day that much more special.
