Great place to try interesting Japanese food and is opened until late.

Service could be a lot better.

I came here on a Monday and we were able to get seated right away. I was tempted to sit in the tatami mat room, but I was not feelin my socks that day haha Honda ya is a great place to go to if you like eating small plates so you can kinda get a taste of everything. The prices are decent here and that have a pretty extensive menu.

List of items I tried:
-Chicken heart
-Beef tongue
-Deep fried garlic
-Cheese wonton
-Bacon wrapped enoki
-Bacon wrapped asparagus
-Yakatori
-Chicken wing
-Shishito peppers

Now wash it all down with a pitcher of Sapporo and a large hot sake and we can call it a good meal. I will come back to try their sashimi options. I am having the deepest regrets of not trying their poke bowl :(

Since it is an izakaya place, it is best to order family style so everyone can get to taste a bite of everything. Of course, those who don't want to do family style can opt in for their dinner combination dinners.

Everything in the menu is good. Definitely order a few things off their yakitori menu, as that's what they are known for. And if you are unsure what else to try on their vast menu, go for the items that have the "thumbs up" picture next to it as those are popular items!

I go here for the 4 dollar green apple chu-hi and yakitori. I also enjoy their floor seating section on the side. Always great service whenever I go.

Lots of great little small plates. The yaki soba is pretty tasty. They have an area where you can sit traditional-style on the floor.

"Mix and match all night long" from the menu "like a phone book" at these izakayas in Downtown and the City of Industry, where the "well-priced" "pub-style plates", yakitori skewers and sushi come with plenty of sake, beer and "old-school" atmosphere; the staff aptly handles the "busy" scene, plus it's "open late, a rarity" for these parts; P.S. sit on the floor in the tatami rooms "if you're feeling adventurous."
