Hot Wok, Jacksonville, Florida, Chinese Restaurant Details

Food:

I order from this establishment a few times a week. I do not eat red meat or chicken so I cannot make a statement about those choices. However, I have loved everything else I have tried there. Shrimp fried rice is absolutely delicious!! Spring rolls taste very authentic.

Food:

Good amount of food and friendly staff. The lady there was nicer then the other Chinese place on Merrill rd.

The experience was horrible. This place makes you not want to order any Chinese in the future. My co-worker & I were both craving Chinese food, so instead of going with our usual place, we decided to try this location after meeting the deliver guy, who happen to be delivering to another floor. We didn't know there was another Chinese restaurant in our area that delivered here, so we tested the waters. My rice and veggies were extremely mushy. I took 3 bites of the food & ended up throwing it in the garbage. My co-worker tossed her food as well. There aren't many amazing Chinese restaurants in Jacksonville, but I've never been served mushy rice & broccoli. The peas had white freezer marks on them. Everything appeared to be old. Chinese food should be fresh. This was disgusting.

Me and my co-workers order from these guys almost once every week. I was one who never paid attention to review when I am hungry but today had to be reported. Usually it is a hit or miss, meaning either they will forget someone's order or we will ask for no veggies on and order and veggies will be in when we unbagging it. They advertise free delivery over $10 but wants to charge a $2 service charge to any order. Some days they say they will split the service charge and other days they will lie and say the don't split the charge. They have a women answer the phones and takes orders, but when you tell them you spoke to a woman, they will deny a woman even works there. Today's order we find a long black hair in our General Tso lunch special. When we called to complain they denied it because they claim their workers don't have long hair. We demanded a refund just for the order that had a long hair in it and they hung up on us. Don't take chances with your food, these people are not going to take any responsibilities for what they give you.

Food:

Good food, good service, clean store, and the prices on the lunch special were cheap! Loved it! I will be going back on a regular basis.
