05/11/2011 8:16 pmHorrible service. I will rather drive out of my neighborhood to get some food rather then going there. I ate there the first week it opened and many times since then. We have just given up on them. |

11/28/2009 11:39 pmI left a review earlier (see richstolz), but I wanted to note that on my last visit to Huevos, I was greeted by a credit card machine. I hadn't been by in months because I had assumed they were still cash only, and I hadn't had any cash when in the area. But now that they have a credit card machine I will be by more often. I wanted to remark on someone's comment about the portions being small... they are. I always get a side of breakfast potatoes or a couple extra eggs when I eat here. The women I have gone to Huevos with are happy with the portion size, but it takes a bit more to fill me up. |

11/01/2009 9:52 pmI really enjoy trying new restaurants here in New Orleans so when my girlfriend suggested to Huevos I thought this would be a great opportunity to try a new breakfast joint. The menu was simple, there's only about 7 items you can order, which is fine by me-it makes ordering simple. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and my girlfriend the huevos rancheros we found a table and began waiting for our meal. Then we waited a bit more, then we waited a bit more, total time spent waiting for them to cook up some eggs was 1hour. No waitstaff came by to explain this abnormal wait and there was actually a time that every table except one was without food. I may not be an owner of a restaurant but it seems like a bad business practice to have all the patrons in your restaurant sitting at their tables without food. All in all the food was very mediocre and a bit expensive. It wasn't bad, it's just that I will never go back nor will I ever recommend it to a friend. If you want a good breakfast check out the New Orleans Cake Cafe, it's a much better cafe dinning experience. |

04/13/2009 3:21 amThis place is great. I first came here after reading an article in the Gambit. Everything is very reasonably priced and really tasty. Margaret the server, is super sweet, and works hard to remember each customer's name. They always have a number of flavors of coffee and each is good. I eat a lot, so the standard portion size is a bit small for me, but that is ok - I order a side of hasbrowns. I haven't had the whole menu yet, but I have had over half of it and it has all been good. Plus the atmosphere is super. They have done a great job giving the place that classic mid-city charm. I eat here at least once a week. Only downside: bring cash, they don't take credit cards. |
