India Garden, Asheville, North Carolina Restaurant Details

Worst CHICKEN MANCHURIAN ever. Drove from charlotte to Ashville and stopped by this restaurant on a Friday evening (it was pretty empty except for a couple of tables with people). We ordered my husband's favourite Chicken manchurian. After 15 mins, when the dish arrived, we were pretty dissapointed with the look of eat, we went ahead to eat it anyway. Seriously!!! Popcorn chicken cooked in tomato sauce, is that chicken manchurian?????? The chef should seriously learn the definition of a manchurian dish. After this, we were afraid to order any other dish in their menu. However, we ended up ordering Dal tadka (assuming who could go wrong with plain indian Dal) and yogurt to save our stomachs for the day.

This is one of the finest Indian Restaurants we have been to. We have eaten Indian Food all over the world and India Garden stands out near the top of our list. It is reasonable, nicely appointed and, most importantly, has well prepared and excellent tasting food. We highly recommend it.

Asheville has 2 other Indian restaurants in town...Chai Panni and Mela. Having lived in India most of my life, I have to say the only place I eat Indian out is INDIAN GARDEN. Why? It is the only authentic Indian food. I don't think there is a better Indian buffet, but the dinners are great, too!

Love their lunch buffet! Of course there's the Chicken Masala and the Chicken Madra. I really love the Cauliflower Korma and the Eggplant Korma...I crave it! Hot garlic naan...yum! Great service! Really nice, appreciative folks. Great lunch on a gray day!

I recently moved away from Asheville and this is the place I miss the most! I ate there every week for years when I lived in town because you cannot find better Indian food anywhere and the service is excellent. I particularly like the Chicken Pakora and Dahl Tarka!
