09/20/2014 4:27 pmWe dined at the Island Grill last Thursday and was surprised at how overpriced our dinners were. The food is good and nicely prepared, but was extremely overpriced for what you get. Firstly, we were informed when we got there, that it is a cash only restaurant, which meant that my husband had to run out to the ATM and get cash. Then we decided on the cheese board starter. It was quite weak, with just 4 slivers of cheese and some teeth breaking toasts, for $18. My daughter and husband ordered the crab cake and I ordered the scallops, again, they were well prepared, but much more expensive than was stated in the Exit Zero book that we used to find the Island Grill. The most recent edition of Exit Zero listed their entree range from $12 to $26, but mostly all but one entree was over $30 and with everything ala carte, it runs the meal way up in price. Bottom line is, there are many restaurants in Cape May that I expect to break the bank in, this was not one of them. |

07/06/2014 8:09 pmThe food was overpriced and not very good tasting. The special was a pork tenderloin and not available at 6PM. The crab cakes were mostly bread and very little flavor. I won't return or recommend it to anyone. I have a house in Cape May and eat out at least once a week. We were there on July 4th and had the place to ourselves. That should of told me something. |

07/16/2011 10:41 amWe came here for a graduation dinner after my best friend graduated from the USCG. Great food and service. Their lobster mac and cheese is to die for. But, be careful of what time you go there because they close between lunch and dinner. |

06/27/2011 2:15 pmTwo words describe Island Grill: Disappointing and overpriced. Not only had they ran out of certain appetizers by 7:30pm but they also under-delivered on the few appetizers they actually had in stock. Firstly, the bread they provided to complement our meal came out of a paper bag and were hard sesame seed rolls. |
