Great home style food and heat desserts. Their general clientele is older.

The food was good, cooked right yet sat under the hot light. There were 3 women at the bar, doing homework? or a school project. They were eating too. They never helped the busy waitress. They never asked me if I needed anything. There weren't utensils nor napkins on the table. I had to ask for a few things twice. It was after the lunch crowd too. It has been a while since I ate here. Years ago they were more customer friendly. I'm guessing if they had a bigger crowd this time of day, then maybe they would be more attentive & not forget you.

This restaurant used to be a family favorite but has all but lost everything that made it a good place to eat so many years ago. The food was extremely mediocre and most of our dinner sat under a heat lamp for quite a while before it came out. The "famous" onion rings where nothing but small flakes of fried batter with a few onions in them. The salad bar was pathetic with just a small handful of toppings and browning lettuce. The chicken that we used to love is now dry and flavorless. And the worst part of the evening was the insult on the bill called "service fee" for allowing us to bring a birthday cake with us. We had 14 people and a $280 check for dinner and drinks and this total dive with a handful of customer had the nerve to charge us $15 for bringing a cake??? I could care less about the $15 but the fact that the manager said they charge the fee to discourage people from bringing in a cake because it is disruptive absolutely shocked me. Before I lost my cool entirely I took a look around and saw the small handful of customers there and realized that this was not a place I would ever go again and it was sadly apparent why. Call a TV restaurant rescue show asap.

Planned to head to Outback to get a standard meal, but spotted this restaurant in the strip mall and decided to give it a go. Got there a little early and the crowd was a bit older, but I use a good elderly crowd as a bellwether, since old people don't put up with much s***. Food was great, had a local feel (am from a smaller town in IL) and got to try a local beer, Third Stone. Only gripe was the waitress told us their was a third side with our Chicken Fried Steak, but only two came. I'm pretty sure the menu only said two, so was surprised when she asked for the third. All in all a quality restaurant in a sea of urban sprawl.
