Jack Pandl's Original Bay Inn, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, American Restaurant Details

This was my first time visiting Jack's. The reviews which said "charming neighborhood, boring, unimaginable" we're all spot on. Undeterred, I was prepared for mediocre food. What I wasn't prepared for was the shockingly high price - especially with consideration for the blah quality! It was a little worse than what I expected, so I will not likely return.

Pros: Neighborhood, friendly waitstaff, charming interior (but a bit tired)

Cons: High cost, unimpressive taste, unattractive plating (did they even try?)

Such a wonderful location, I hope Jack Pandl's either steps up their game or significantly adjusts their menu prices (I prefer the former!)

Great vintage Wisconsin Supper Club style dining, with a lunch menu. Menu features seafood, steaks and German dishes. Go for the whitefish or pike fillets, or even better come on a Friday night for the fish fry.

The food, environment and service were excellent at the Sunday brunch on Dec 27th. It was great to enjoy the good food and be able to have ongoing conversations among our group of six. We all ordered something different and we all were very pleased.

This restaurant is a great value for diners and made my drive from Elm Grove worthwhile.

Food:

There is always something wonderful about family owned and managed establishments that make you feel you are home. As some speak of comfort food Pandl's is a comfort place carried on by the next generation that innately knows what it's visitors need. It's a bit worn but that's what makes it so comfortable. A Milwaukee North Shore tradition that I pray will continue to provide good food and drink to generations to come. Throughout the warmer months they have added outside dinning and when you sit and look into Lake Drive you can almost hear and see the horses and carriages going down the cobblestone roads of generations past. You will know for certain that your dining experience is far from that of a chain restaurant and at least for myself that makes all the difference in the world not to mention every meal I have had at Pandl's I have thoroughly enjoyed.

So many old people there. Was a little befuddled by the music choice inside, but I suppose at that age its hard to even hear Outkast.

Highly recommend bringing your AARP card, there must have been a discount.

Fun little fact, Jack Pandl's has the 19th largest private art collection in Whitefish Bay.
