This place has very good udon. I've dined here a couple of times and I have yet to be disappointed.

First time I came here, I had the kakiage cold udon. This was a mountain of kakiage and very good udon noodles. The portions are a little large. The noodles had a good bounce to the texture, which all good udon noodles should have. Moreover, the broth in the dipping sauce, the tsuyu, was absolutely delicious. It had a nice bonito and seaweed flavor which was among the best I ever had, anywhere, including Japan.

I also had the curry udon. This was delicious too. It had a nice good curry soup, with the same thick bonito broth flavor. Noodles were excellent. This was a very tasty and satisfying meal. The curry soup was so good I downed the whole thing

I had the tanuki cold udon today for dinner. Again with the dipping sauce. It just reaffirmed my first impression of the food here. Great noodles, great dipping sauce, great texture and flavor. My wife had the shrimp tempura cold udon. Their tempura is very decent for a place that specializes in udon.

The service is adequate. The price is right for quality udon; $20 - $30 for a meal for 2. No kama'aina discount. Parking is limited, but there is additional parking if you go around to Young St. It's ground floor parking in an unmarked building, so it's kind of hard to spot.

I will be coming back again. I want to try their nabeyaki udon, yaki udon, and some of the curry dishes as well as the katsu dishes. But since this is an udon restaurant, my recommendation would be to try any of their udon dishes. One note of caution, if you come late, you might get stuck with the skinny udon noodles. They make their udon noodles fresh, so there is a limited quantity. I would imagine that they don't run out often, but I figure this is useful information to know.

The udon is made fresh and is the best I have tried. The curry udon special with shrimp tempura is AMAZING!

Curry rice combo. My standard. The best udon in town. Great price point too.

The udon is fantastic and the broth is smokey and very, very tasty. Easily one of the best places in Hawaii.
