Joe's Crab Shack, Arlington, Texas, Seafood Restaurant Details

NEVER have I experienced anything as shameful as my birthday party at Joe's Crab Shack in Arlington.

My parents reserved a table for myself and several other guests for my 30th birthday on April 26th. We had one server for about fifteen people, even though plenty more were on staff. So naturally our wait times for drinks and food were extended by an unreasonable margin. My appetizer arrived burnt, cold and just sort of splattered on the plate. And that's where the fun really started.

I ordered a two lobster steam pot to share with my fiancé, and when it arrived it was nothing but rubbery, cold clams and the husks of what once may have been a lobster. Naturally, I sent it back, considering it was trash, and I made sure to break a piece off of one of the clam shells just to see if I would receive the same janky clams twice. My young goddaughter received a hamburger that she could not even bite into because it was so burnt and cold.

My second steam pot consisted of a practically powdered lobster, since it was so disastrously overcooked and the same clams I had already sent back. I'm sure there were other ingredients the kitchen staff tossed in there for me as well. So I sent it back also and just decided not to eat. On my birthday. My waitress downright refused to take the pot of nasty food away. I asked her more than once to please take the pot of shells and garbage away and she kept saying she would leave it so I could pick at it. I was not untested in picking at it. My appetite was gone.

At this point, the other servers begin gathering to sing birthday songs and do their little birthday thing for me. I asked the waitress not to proceed with this, as I was worn out with the situation and honesty quite aggravated by this point, and she ignored me. When I refused to participate in the song, a young server decided it was a great time to scream at the top of his lungs that "Jessica has crabs" and repeat it over and over.

I was thoroughly disgusted by their food, their behavior, and their treatment of myself and my party. I was absolutely mortified. I would have left right then but it took an exceptionally long period of time for our check to arrive so I was trapped in this hell of a birthday until they decided to get it together so I could go get a hamburger from the drive thru on my way home.

They did offer to make a meal for me to go, but I told the server point blank that I was not intersted in taking a to go box full of garbage and spit home with me. She laughed. I wasn't joking. It seemed like she was completely ignoring everything that was going on and just off in her own little world pretending everything was okay.

My stepfather spoke with the manager who didn't seem to care one bit how his employees- back and front of house- had treated us.

We will never visit another location again, ever. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant and honestly joes should be ashamed they let it happen.

Food:

DO NOT VISIT! We had to ask for a waiter to help us after sitting at the table for 20 minutes. Our drinks took another 10 minutes. This place was slow at the time. We talked to the manager and he said he would keep an eye on our table but never came back to make sure everyhting was ok. Awful customer service! Will not revisist and suggest no one visits this place either.

They told us that it would be a 20 minute wait for 2 people, which we were okay with. Then after waiting 30 minutes I asked how much longer it would be and the hostess said that we were next and then continued to seat 5 other groups of people ahead of us. One of the hosts also gave us disgusting looks while we were waiting. Needless to say we did not stay and will not be back. Also the restaurant smelled like toxic chemicals. I recommend going to Potbellies in Arlington!!

Food:

They stopped the dancing thing they used to do that made the atmosphere unique and whatever you do, don't order oysters. They served them warm with no ice and they smelled rancid. The worst part was that the waitress AND the manager said that's the way you serve oysters. Just a real sad experience considering how mighty this place used to be.

This was not a good experience we waited for an hour for our food, it was not busy at so im not understanding why the wait was so long. It was all you can eat crab legs but with that they should have been better prepared. We placed our order while we waited for an hour we noticed people getting refills but yet we haven't gotten anything. After getting our food the clusters weren't full and only got 1-2 at a time.... i will not be coming back
