This place is awesome. Everything is homemade and fresh. I'm pretty sure that other lady is crazy and just did not want to like it. Get the blackened catfish

I'll start off by saying I'm somewhat fussy. This place is obviously very popular, and with good reason. The food tastes homemade and is well made. But there were several things I didn't like so much, such as: As soon as I walked in, I could smell the smells from the nail salon next door. To me it was a very strong smell, but most of the others in my party weren't bothered by it. I ordered broiled salmon. It was well made, but I expected it to be a little crusty on top, and it wasn't at all, because they use a tomato sauce on top. The string beans were overcooked. The mashed potatoes were a bit loose and watery. The rolls were warm and fresh, but the butter tasted of the refrigerator. When we asked for more rolls, the server took our 2/3 used butter cup, already tiny, out of the wicker basket for us to re-use and didn't bring another, which I thought was ungenerous. Why skimp over such a small thing? I wanted decaf coffee but there wasn't any decaf this night. The minestrone soup however was very good. The garden salad was fresh and well made with spinach. The pecan pie was only $3 but tasted of the refrigerator. If you are a true vegetarian, meaning no meat or fish, there is only one entree for you, tofu and mixed vegetables, but I suppose they would make something to order. The restaurant is in a seedy little strip mall, and is hard to find if you don't know exactly where it is. The sign for the restaurant needs re-doing because it doesn't stand out from the street. Although the food was good, I wouldn't go there again because of the smell from the nail salon, unless I was with a group of people who wanted to eat there.
