Julie's Chicken & Waffles, Mesa, Arizona Restaurant Details

Just went to the new location in fiesta mall and WOW!!! They have add some new items and they have the Breau-BBQ wings and they are to die for!!! They also have flavor waffles now and the NEW OBAMA TEA!!! IT'S LIKE A ARNOLD PALMER WITH BROWN SUGAR!!! IF YOU LOVE SOME SOUL FOOD AND YOU ARE IN THE EAST VALLEY YOU HAVE TO GO CHECK THEM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRETT I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER OF JULIES FOR YEARS YOU SHOULD HAD ASK FOR OWNER VERY NICE LADY SHE WOULD HAD TOOK GOOD CARE OF YOU!!! SO YOU ARE DEAD WRONG BRETT!!!!

The worst food I have ever got. I got their "jumbo tenders and fried" So i got 3 pieces of chicken with the diameter of 1/4 inch and about 2.5 inches in length. This was the worst food I have ever had! there is a reason they went bankrupt at dobson and guadalupe. Also the staff are very rude! they point at you, have no real intentions of delivering quality food like roscoes or lolos! STAY AWAY!!!!

i'm a former worker at julies and i thought i'd let everyone know the location has been closed for a month now and has opened a location at fiesta mall with limited food and limited hours.

I really liked this place when it first opened. Chicken and waffle are good. Not crazy about red beans and rice. The greens are decent. The service was really good when first open, but the last time we went ...just okay. A friend of mine got the catfish and it wasn't cooked all of the way so he was disappointed. I will try again because the chicken is Yummy but they got to do better as far as service and their side dialed. Also a helpful hint would be to played edited rap music during dinner hour.

went there to hear some live music and try out their food. i had to purchase tickets for the event which were $10 each and the live music was suppose to start at 9pm. I go there early to have dinner and it was just ok. The tea was too sweet, and the biscuits they gave us were cold. I got the chicken and waffles and they were good. the chicken was well cooked and the waffle was thick, it was a good meal. The downside is that the server was so quiet, we could barely hear what she was saying. But she was a nice girl, just needs to speak up!
After we finished eating we waited for the event to start. 9pm arrives, no live music. 10pm arrives still no live music! 10:30 arrives and a DJ starts playing music, but I was expecting live instruments. I saw people wondering around stage appearing to set up but still nothing live! Around 11, some men started arguing with each other in front of everyone. They leave for a moment and then one of the men that was arguing before goes on stage and says the show was CANCELLED!!! He just said that this had nothing to do with the restaurant and it was the people who promoted the event. There was no mention of a refund! I wanted my money back and no one would help me! The man said to go talk to the promoter and get my money back.
The promoter at this point was outside packing his equipment, he kept denying that he had our money and told us to speak with the restaurant management. We all head back towards the restaurant and the man who told us to go outside still kept telling us to talk to the promoter! In the end, I did not get my money back :(
I get that the restaurant can not help if the promoter cancelled the show. But I felt that the people in the restaurant did not care. We came out and spent money in their establishment to be yelled at because their event didn't happen. Its simply not great customer service. Would I go there again? Maybe, but not for any of their events just for the food.
