Food:

Food is average, but the staff is good, I might have to get used to the food as it is a little undercooked I thought. I've never eaten afgan food earlier.

NOT AN AFGHAN FOOD!! IT WAS A SHAME TO THE AUTHENTIC AFGHAN FOOD. I was EXTREMELY dissapounted. If you are afghan and think you will get some afghan food forget about going there. I am Afghan. Ordered some qabuli chicken, lamb sabzi chalow, Bamiya, and Bolani.

The soup, naan, and chaatni was good. Bolani was nothing like afghan bolani. The setting and atomsphere was good. We were waiting on the ontrees and came some white thick rice with some chicken and half cooked large cut pieces of carrots. Honestly the rice was not ediable and the food all didn't blend in together.

Real qabuli has richness to it, it melts in your mouth and the meat is soft/juicy with lots of great spices. The rasin and carrots are mixed and the sweetness of both blends in with the long thin rice. The color is brown and the meat is lamb. Buried under the rice.

Its ok for people who haven't experienced real afghan food but for someone like me it was a shame. I learned that the owner isn't first or even second generation afghan that's why the food is not as it is suppose to be. Also the targets were not afghans but rather non afghans. Still it's wrong to present afghanistan cuisine in such bad way.

As afghan I would never go there.

Wonderful service. Good Baba Ghanoush, good Kaftachalow (Afghani Meatballs). AMAZING Turkish Coffee and Firni (custard). I mean it. That Firni knocked my socks off; vanilla custard about the consistancy of flan, hint of rosewater and cinnamon, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with walnuts.

Food:

Fast service and very large servings (you'll have enough to take home) or delicious food. Good prices too, and a nice atmosphere to make it a nicer place than almost anywhere else on State St.

The cuisine here is absolutely wonderful. It's a rather small place, but if you can get a table it's definitely worth it. I'm very tempted to keep going back to try the entire menu.
