When I was living in the city this was one of my go to spots. Now I hear they no longer serve hooka... this is sad :(

Fun place, good food but the staff is terrible! The bartender can be slow and aloof and the waitresses disappear time to time

[From a visit on Dec 2008]

I went here for a birthday dinner for my friend, along with about a dozen other hungry well-wishers.

Company? Great. Service from the restaurant? Pretty good. Food? So-so.

SERVICE:
- Pretty prompt, also refilled water glasses quickly.
- All meals came at the same time. Nice.
- Efficient, though not particularly friendly or smiley.
- My friend clearly asked for a dish with no veggies, but got extra veggies.

FOOD:
- Ceasar salad, nothing special, but not bad.
- Combo shawarma plate: huge amount, meat was cooked okay and flavored decently, hummus was okay but not great.
- Desserts: pretty lousy. I ordered the chocolate backlava, and despite a nice coating of chocolate on the outside of the backlava, the inside was just dry and rather flavorless; I've had much better backlava from Costco. The halva tasted really dry and not that tasty to me, either, but I'm not as familiar with that dessert, so maybe it's just not my thing.

ENTERTAINMENT
- The belly dancer woman was talented and friendly! She asked if anyone from our table wanted to join her, and our very dance-worthy birthday girl (after being egged on) got up and danced.
- Afterwards, the belly dancer (sorry, didn't catch her name) came over to thank our table for being so much fun, and chatted with us a bit about belly dancing and our food and so on.

So basically, I give this place a 4.5 for entertainment, 4 for service, a 3 for food. Oh, and a 3 for ambiance (it's a nice place, but FREEZING near the door!). 4 for value, given the huge portions + free entertainment.
