Karl Ratzsch's Restaurant, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, German Restaurant Details

Food:

My husband and I travel from the West Suburbs of Illinois at least twice a year to visit, and we alway make sure we go to Karl Ratzsch. It's the first time we have been there since the reopening. The place it decorated really nice. The server we had was decent, a young man who knew his stuff. The Wienerschnitzel was very good, but the Pork Shank was not as good as it has been in the past. It was crispy, but the flavor was lacking. The reason I really gave my rating, was we were the last of 2 tables in the restaurant on Friday night, and I had to use the restroom. There was another yappy waitress, that we were happy that we didn't have, wouldn't let me use the new bathroom on nthe main level. She told me that I had to use the one upstars. Now, they were closing soon, and I'm not sure why it would have made a bit of differnce to her, but it really ticked me off. Next time we're in Milwaukee, we might just have to pass.

Excellent restaurant. We went here for a big milestone celebration and it was superb. Excellent service, decent wait times, authentic environment, and most of all fantastic food. We'll definitely be going again.

Delicious sausage! Get the sampler platter to try a number of them. Also very the amazing and buttery pretzel. It comes with the best mustard dipping sauce I've ever had.

If you want delicious authentic German food this is the place to head to. I loved it. The inside was newly renovated and they kept it original to the best they could and it turned out beautiful. The only complaint I had was the waiters aren't any good when it comes to explaining the menu. So have Google or Siri with you to help you out because they won't. Other than that I loved it.

I hope they get it together soon. I'm really rooting for the restaurant. I was at the soft opening on Friday the 15th and the service I received was just awful. She could not answer any of my questions about the menu. The food and drink were very much delayed in their arrival. The food was tasty but the service has me hesitant to return or to recommend.
