05/30/2015 11:33 pmSimply outstanding. A very small, but special place near Japan Town run by just a husband (he prepares the food) and she serves. This is the only Japanese restaurant in this country that totally reminds me of the great places I eat in in Japan. Close my eyes so that I can't see that the other customers are all American, I would think I am back in Kyoto. I love this place. Not cheap but worth it with an excellent sake list. |

08/23/2014 3:44 pmReally cute husband and wife run restaurant, with an excellent Omakase which includes some of the best sushi and sashimi pieces. Decent value, but not the most distinctive dishes I've had in Omakase. |

04/09/2014 7:51 pmMy Take: food tasting without an emphasis on the sushi || Went For: Thursday night dinner || The Vibe: sushi and food taster devotees || Special Dish: Omakase || Avoid Their: Omakase || Price Point: $60 or 72 per person || The Service: one chef, one server -= quite a dynamic duo || Reservations: YES YES YES, there's a maximum of 8 tables inside || FYI, FRIENDS: this is my first omakase experience, but I thought there wasn't enough sushi (raw fish) -- Eat up, Kimmie |

09/29/2015 12:15 amThough its Japantown entrance is "easy to miss", this "traditional", "expensive" Japanese is worth seeking out for "fresh" sushi along with "divine", elegantly presented omakase dinners; "don't come if you're in a rush" or sans reservations, as there are "only 12 seats", and expect to see the chef doing "all the sashimi and cooking right in front of you." |
