One benefit of going to this place after 5 PM is they have reserved parking spaces else finding parking (or paying for it) might make this more expensive. Also, although it's located right next to Penn's Landing, it doesn't seem to have the crowded feeling you have when you are near Market and 2nd.
There is Belly Dancing available for viewing pleasure with your food on Tuesday and Saturday (i think those are the days). The decor is nice and spacious, there are Turkish style handbags hanging in the restaurant as art pieces. The food quality is good, I preferred the Mediterranean food (mainly the appetizers) more than the Turkish due to being Vegetarian. The Vegetable Stew in the Main Course was dipped in oil which could be seen floating. I would give the food a rating of 3.5 out of 5.
As others have pointed out, the service is a little slow (not for the food when we went but for other things like water, bill etc) and this was when there were only 3 customers in the restaurant!

I tried the Kunafeh dessert based on the recommendation by our waitress which is more like Vermicelli with Cheese in between and was pretty good (more sweeter than I imagined but good still).
Overall a nice location and decent food if you are in the mood for a different stlye of cuisine.

My husband is Turkish and our second date was here. So this place holds a special place in our hearts. Plus, we love Ayse, the owner. She is a great, strong woman and and makes super delicious authentic Turkish dishes. We love what she has done with the new place. Plus, the fish is great and so much more healthy! My husband loves the Turkish doner (gyro meat which is real lamb like in Turkey not mystery meat like in American pizza shops). Cupra is a really nice, light Turkish fish. One of my favorites there and so is the chicken shish kebob. But you have to save room for Ayse's desserts! Her baklava is hands down the best we've had...even from top baklava shops in Turkey. :) Turkish baklava is nice and light. Bellydancing and the Turkish band are nice to see there too. It's a nice clean, place and good food. Food takes a little longer to come out...but that's because it's real fresh food, not frozen and it takes time! And can we say how great it is to have a place with FREE parking in Philly. LOVE it.

I Love Konak- my husband first took me there on our 1st valentine's- and ever since it's been a favorite place of ours where we have shared great dinners!
Konak's ambiance is great- the restaurant itself is designed like a turkish palace- with a high ceiling and romantic-feel.
The service has always been perfect- and we've been there more than 10 times!
The food is delicious!!! Especially the Iskender Kebab- it comes with a layer of bread underneath, soaked in gravy with yogurt and butter on the side.
DELICIOUS FOOD, EXCELLENT SERVICE- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
