03/19/2016 3:34 amIt takes so long to get food. It took so long to be seated. It's fairly pricey if you're looking for cheap food. |

11/22/2015 10:58 pmVery authentic. Great house-made chorizo. Great seafood dishes. Nice atmosphere in this busy location. Has been around for years, so they're definitely doing things right. |

11/14/2015 11:11 pmWent here last night. It was fabulous. The waitress was right there making sure we had everything we needed. The homemade corn tortillas were amazing. The food was great and we didn't have to wait long for it. |

07/11/2015 8:53 pmAnother example of "Portlanders Will Eat Anything." My friend, who had eaten there before, and I, who had not, went there on a recent sweltering weeknight for dinner. There is no air conditioning, and not even a single ceiling fan....zero regard for customers' comfort. My friend had the nopales salad, which she pronounced to be "OK." I had an asada torte, which was terrible. For $7.50 one might expect some decent amount of meat in this thing, but alas there was precious little to be found. Dinner prices are simply ridiculous for a place like this....starting at $18!! Sides are also insanely priced....$8 for guacamole?? The teeny bits of red and green salsa that came with the salad were poorly made. The menu goes on about authenticity and slow food, etc., themes which are increasingly used as justifications for skimpy portions of crappy food. The service was passable, but the place needs a good cleaning and I left wanting some FOOD! Oh, and for god's sake, get rid of those clunky metal chairs that make a god-awful scraping noise when moved across the concrete floor! The noise is like fingernails on a blackboard!! Belmont is become increasingly gentrified, and with any luck, this place will soon be a victim.... |
