I thought the food was very overpriced, but I used to go to Rocklands to support the local community. Now Rocklands pays for a full time tow truck to sit in the parking lot. Don't even think about stopping into the store next door to buy drinks. Watch out, your car will be gone before you even make it to the cash register. What a disappointment....I'll continue to support the community, but never go back to Rocklands.

Delicious BBQ in a quaint restaurant. The interior decorating is everything you'd want in a BBQ place. Be careful of the nuts you can sample. They're pretty spicy. If you order food to go, grab a beer and enjoy the wait.

Unexpectedly great BBQ. Even better is the sweet tea, real hard to find this far north.
The egg rolls are a unique but tasty treat.

My favorite BBQ takeout place in Arlington.

Tender meat and great service. Take out option as well as a bar and tables in the restaurant.

Quick service so take out is my go to option.

Wish they had a signature BBQ sauce.

I've read some of the owner's responses to some reviews, and I understand that they want to do a "DC style" and unique BBQ. I was raised in the DC area for most of my life, spending 5 years in Atlanta at one point. Maybe if I had never gone South I'd like this, but like some others have said, this just isn't the kind of BBQ I'm used to. I have been multiple times, and tried the pork, brisket, and pit beef. The pit beef hit the mark, but the other two missed. The sides are decent. I tried the mac&cheese bites as well. I'm not sure what "extra" was added to them (beer in the batter?) but they tasted just a little bit "off". And what I thought was ranch dressing that was served with them, wasn't. That totally threw me off. The atmosphere is good and the service is friendly. For the cost, I'd go other places, but if a group from work was going, I would tag along and get the pit beef.
