La Fondue, Denver, Colorado Restaurant Details

Food:

Frozen and then thawed bread, cheap low-quality cheese, Walmart-quality meat cuts (that were mushy and warm), plastic dipping cups (with ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, etc as the dips), brown mushy apples, the list goes on.

The service was atrocious and the manager did nothing to solve the horrible experience. She just argued and told my party that we "didn't know how fondue worked".

I paid over 200 dollars for this disgusting meal. Eating the sludge from the bottom of a dumpster would be more satisfying.

When leaving, the valet asked us how bad it was... He knew that his own employer was atrocious and the restaurant sucked.

I proceeded to contact the health department after our service (due to the other part of the wretched experience and the massive number of reviews online about the sanitary conditions). They did conduct an investigation.

Took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and we had a good time!

The ambience is great, you get these high top booths with a big stove thing in the center, and you feel very private. The lights are dim, the music is mild, the decor is nice.

The food was great! Fresh, and high quality. We got a 3 course meal for $35 each I believe it was. All things said and done, I think a meal for 2 was about $82. So not bad for a nice, special occasion dinner!

Ambience is great. Good location. Food is exactly what I've come to expect from fondue restaurants - nothing more, nothing less. The service was the notably deficient aspect of the experience. Our server could not have been less interested in serving us, a group of 5 women out for a night of fun downtown. While we were all courteous and tipped well, she didn't deserve it. She was super annoyed by us just being there...and they weren't even busy. I would not visit this restaurant again, solely based on their tolerance for employing indifferent servers.

We went for my birthday and again at Valentines. I had such a great time both times, the food was terrific. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant was easily able to accommodate my large family of 8 and we all managed to still have a great time. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Thank you!
