Bad Service / Long Wait / Out of Menu Items

The very WORST service I've ever received in my entire life!

My sister works up the street at the police substation, so we decided to try out La Playita on her lunch break yesterday. The building is very small, but cute. When we got there, all of the available tables hadn't been cleared off yet. We stood there in the doorway for 5 minutes before a waitress asked if we'd like her to clear a spot? We said yes and thanked her. We sat down, put in our order for 2 shrimp cocktails and a plate of garlic fish, then waited. I had also asked for oysters, but the waitress said they were out of them, not a big deal though. My sister and I were talking and catching up, so we didn't realize how much time had passed. It had already been 30 minutes, before we noticed that the waitress never came back. We saw the standard chips-and-salsa on all the other tables, but she never brought us anything. Keep in mind, it's a tiny restaurant, so we didn't think she could forget about us, so the only explanation was that she decided not to serve us. I can't even imagine why since we were so nice to her. It was unbelievable. I was so outraged! We saw her bring food out to people that came in after we did. We had no choice but to leave because we wasted almost 40 minutes at this place and my sister had to be back at work in 20 minutes. Even if we complained, there wouldn't have been enough time for them to make us something at this point and get her back to work on time. The whole experience was AWFUL. We will NEVER go back, and it's sad because I love Mexican seafood and it was so close by her work. Oh well.
