Usually I'd give it more stars but 9 dollars for an eggplant roll that's soso , and and 1 dollar for the extra sauce. Save the money go somewhere else.

My father used to brag about how great the pizza was here and always brought home delicious pizza whenever he had the chance. I believed, and wanted to believe that their pizza would always be awesome. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. I walked in and was not given a warm welcome. I doubt all pizzerias are like this to customers. Maybe it's because I'm Chinese but I'll let the whole racism thing go. I wasn't sure what kind of pizza was sitting at the counter so I pointed to the slice and asked the elderly man what it was. Not only does he give me a very nasty look and question me about my inquiry; he takes the slice and slams it onto the table for no reason. I can understand that he's an old grumpy guy so I just let it go. Well, that was the service experience I had. The pizza quality has gone way downhill. Ordered a large pie with pepperoni and man... did they skimp on it. Pizza was completely dry, barely any cheese or sauce with "one or two" pieces of pepperoni on each slice. It was literally like eating toasted pita bread. If I wanted to eat crunchy pita bread, I could've just bought a bag of Stacy's chips instead of paying $18 for a bad pizza. If I had to compare this with papa johns, la sorrentina has definitely lost my favor.

Justin hit the nail on the head when he called this an empire. They have a bunch of stores on this block, and while I haven't tried them all, word of mouth seems to have carried them this far, so why not a bit more?

The sicilian slice that I got was pretty decent, and remarkably filling. All it took was one and a small root beer, and I was good for the night. This coming from the guy who can take down half a pie at some places without any hesitation.

I was also impressed by their immense, old school, wood burning oven. I'd imagine that it was custom made or at least custom installed for them, and it was really cool looking. The old pictures of Brooklyn, from when they were building the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge too.
