If you are looking for a value for money dinner, I can't recommend going here. If you just want to have a nice wine in their outside area you can give it a try, but the surrounding venues offer better food.

Food:

Nice atmosphere, nice people, very, very long wait for food that comes with miniature garnishes. Couldn't believe how tiny potatoes and tomatoes were with salmon although it had a good flavor. High price for minimal food. Drinks are at least ten dollars a piece. Guess you are paying for Little Italy atmosphere.

La Villa has a lot of nice outdoor tables. Our waiter, Lucas, was very attentive. He helped us choose a nice red wine from Capania. Two members or our party were vegetarians, but we managed to pick a set of a appetizers, pizzas, and entrees that we shared family style. The vegan leek and pear soup was especially good. The puree gave it the texture of cream. We also very much liked the mushroom pizza.

I'm so very sad La Villa was truly one of my favorite restaurants. Today we found out Chef Chris has left and they have a new chef. This five star restaurant is now barely one star.

I made reservations over a week ago to take my friends out to celebrate their marriage. Our reservations were for four at 6:30 PM. We were seated immediately at a great table on the patio. We ordered cocktails and a bottle of wine and a appetizer. The cocktails and wine came out right away. Then we waited and waited for our appetizer. The waitress, who was awesome, finally told us that the chef burnt the pork belly confit appetizer. They finally brought a new order as well as an additional comp appetizer, of toast points with guacamole. The pork belly confit was so disappointing it was all fat and very little meat. We did not even eat half of it.

We continued to wait for about 45 more minutes for our dinner. The salmon portion was so small on this very large plate and my friend was so disappointed there was no flavor. Then they bought out the flank steak my partner ordered again the portion was tiny. Three little strips and there was no flavor. I asked the waitress what happened the food just did not appear or taste as good. She said that Chef Chris had left and they did not know where he was working now. They hired a new chef. I told her the food just was not as good. It's very sad we loved this restaurant.

My friend and I ordered the chicken fettuccine with brussel sprouts and that was our absolute favorite. The waitress said that we would not be disappointed the chef had not changed the pastas yet. Well she was so wrong again a tiny portion with no flavor. The cream sauce on this pasta use to be so light and the flavor awesome. Now it's just bland.

On the way out I heard another table talking about how disappointed they were. They had, had their wedding reception at La Villa and came back tonight for fond memories. They said they wished they had not come back because the wonderful memory they had now had turned into a disappointment.

Chef Chris where ever you are now please let us know. I want to come to your new restaurant. I will not go back to La Villa again.

Food:

The food is the "best" in Little Italy. Very fresh and consistant. The staff are warm and attentive. Only wish their Happy Hour was a bit later. 3:30pm to 5:30pm is not easy to make if getting off work at normal time of 5pm.
