03/04/2013 12:29 amI and my families were at this place today. We have been reserved the table for a big party of ppl a week ahead of time. However when we were there, we expected that there for us, but wait for 15-20 mins there was no sign of our waiters. They were disappeared. WE HAVE TO RUN IN AND OUT TO FIND OUR SERVER, and we have to wait on our food, and charge 18% for the service (for a large party meal 18% for the WORST SERVICE IN THE WORLD is a lot). FOOD ARE WAYYYYY OVER PRICE and SALTY. A small dish (I MEANT IT) of appetizer, you can't even taste what exactly it is that cost you about $10. I have been in all places but this place is just THE WORST i have every been too. WORST SERVICE, WORST FOOD, AND OVERLY CHARGE FOR EVERYTHING. If you ever want to go to Vietnamese restaurant. This is the LEAST, or I would said that I WOULD NEVER EVER AND EVER recommend this place to anyone. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. |

05/31/2011 11:53 pmMany moons ago, this tiny non descript restaurant stood on very busy Colonial Drive overshadowed by Little Saigon and other Vietnamese restaurants in Colonialtown. The décor had little or no appeal and the ceiling tiles flaked off. Not so much right now. Over the years Lac Viet Bistro has grown and expanded. The décor has taken a definite turn and landed to define the food. It is an amazing transformation representative of tropical Vietnam. |

07/16/2009 1:37 pmStill the best Vietnamese restaurant IMHO. The owners work very hard to make sure Lac Viet upholds its reputation - you can meet at least one person from their family there daily. I still prefer the peanut sauce at Little Saigon, but everything else here just tastes better and more fresh. You have to admire the shear amount of authentic and unique dishes they serve here. The noodle soups are not drenched in MSG (like most other places believe it or not - don't let those "No MSG" signs fool you). The food here is simply fresh and very good. The only thing I ate here that I wasn't satisfied with was the whole fried fish (but I'm picky and I've eaten it in Beijing at a prestigious restaurant and it was unbelievably good). |
