I love, love, love this place! My family and I dine-in and order carry-out. In my experience, the size of a restaurant is indirectly proportional to its quality, and Lao Laan-Xang is tiny! The vibe is chill, the servers are kind and attentive, and the food is cooked in their small kitchen. I wish I could give this place 6 stars. I recommend the curry squash and sticky rice w/ mango for dessert.

Nice little restaurant hidden away. You can tell everything is well made, the egg rolls are delicious and the crab rangoons are great. Just watch the spiciness of the main dishes.

It's a small little hole-in-the-wall restaurant. I usually get the Mango Curry when I go, which is absolutely delicious. You can choose from 4 different spice levels in your dish. (I choose 1 because I'm a lightweight, my girlfriend chooses 4 and asks for some more on the side because she's little miss ghost pepper challenge :p ...but it's nice to be able to customize the heat. ) We definitely don't get down to this place often enough. I completely recommend it. :)

I've been eating at LLX for many years, at both locations. As such, I was excited to find that they deliver to my place. While the food remains excellent, the delivery service is absolutely terrible. It's always been slow, but we know that and plan accordingly. And we always make a point of checking the order before paying, since that's been a problem once or twice as well.

Only the quality of the food has kept us ordering for delivery from them, but this latest incident makes it clear that was also a total mistake.

Case in point: On a Saturday, we ordered a meal for two (a couple of appetizers, a couple of entrees). When we called, we were told it would be 45-60 minutes before the food arrived. At 90 minutes, I called to inquire and was treated rudely by whoever answered the phone; he even hung up on me before he could find out who I was, when I'd ordered, and what. At 125 minutes, the food arrived. The delivery person helpfully checked the order before I paid (and tipped, since it wasn't her fault). Half of the food was hot, and half tepid at best -- making it likely that the kitchen screwed up the order, left half of it sitting on the counter while they made the other half.

Bottom line: slow delivery, rude treatment on the phone, occasional wrong orders, and food that isn't always hot.

If you want to eat their excellent food, go to the restaurant -- though I'm not likely to do either after this incident.
