Lawry's The Prime Rib, Chicago, Illinois Restaurant Details

"Tradition reigns" at this "longtime" River North link of the Beverly Hills–based chophouse chain known for "dramatic" tableside preparations, including "beautifully cooked", "well-seasoned" prime rib carved from a rolling roasting cart and 'spinning salads' mixed in front of you; "pleasant" service is matched by a "beautiful" setting in the former McCormick mansion.

Best Prime Rib in America, service and presentation is wonderful. The bar which acts as a separate business called The Side Door has a great selection of Craft beers and Specialty Cocktails.

Great steakhouse! One of the best in the city. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

The fine dinning experience I was hoping for was non existent. I felt like I was in a slave owners cafeteria. There are giant portraits of guess who through out the establishment, waitresses in maid attire and the worst part about it all was the preparation of the food. The menu is scarce with limited options. I ordered prime rib which is served from a warming station along with buckets of mash potatoes, and other sides- reminiscent of cafeteria food. I was ever so displeased with the entire experience. Unfortunately the very polite and accommodating host isn't enough to make an entire restaurant worth while.

"My mom and brother are frequent customers, at the Beverly Hills location and Tam O'Shanter in Atwater Village. They highly recommended your restaurant for prime rib and dinner. I feel like I was decieved into eating at a "Side door" when I asked if it was Lawry's and that we wanted Prime Rib. As somebody who has never been to Lawry's before, I didn't know what to expect. So I was surprised that I was told yes that this was Lawry's and when I was served shaved meat.

My husband and I are only in Chicago for a couple days and wanted the Lawry's high end experience and was left with the feeling of mediocrity and deception from internal competition. Sadly, this view will probably stay with us for a long time.
