The food was horrible. The cake was stale. The server told us to go to the counter to see what deserts they had when we asked what choices there were!!! Don't waste your time or money at this flop of a cafe. How sad.

Yes, there is a Christian bookstore and knick-knack vibe, no different from the Olmos park location. Lots of brie, avacado, and crab on the menu.

They are definately more of a restaurant than coffeeshop, but they run Brown Coffee Co through their machines, and that's worth braving ravenous Christians and knick-knack consumerism, both.

Tl;dr: coffee great, food expensive and good, muffins great.

This place was very disappointing -- the menu is definitely over-priced for what you receive (perhaps we're paying for the overhead and decor of this new location) and the staff is rather snotty. And all the hoakey Christian gift items for sale, remind me of a Cracker Barrel. I'll take the Candlelight Coffee House or Timo's any day over this place.

We have been eating at the Lighthouse Cafe in Stone Oak for about 5 yrs and just love it. The menu carries sandwiches not found at other restaurants (like the brie sandwich with turkey or ham, or the sweet potato and avocado sandwich) as well as standard favorites. The 1/2 sandwich and soup/salad is a good value for lunch, and comes with a choice of sides (I recommend the cauliflower au gratin). The chef offers daily dinner specials which are all worth trying--every night offers something different and wonderful. I have a teen-age son who just LOVES the chicken/spinach/carmelized onion quesadilla (it's listed under "appetizers" but makes a filling lunch), and I have to admit it's the best quesadilla I've ever eaten (a bit pricey, but oh so yummy!) In fact, every once in a while I'll take lunch to him at school and he always requests the Lighthouse quesadilla! This place is a "must try".
