A "heavy emphasis" on "high-quality" local ingredients is reflected in "exciting", "complex" dishes with "well-balanced flavors" at this "vibrant" Logan Square New American where a beer list "to drool over" and "killer whiskey selection" further up its "hip" factor; there's often a "long wait" (no reservations), so either "get there early" or check out its "excellent" brunch.

Through Reliable resources, not just 1000+ yelp reviews did I decide to come here for the bourbon. There was simply too much discussion between people who had no business coming here and those wishing to bask in it’s glory to trust the public.

My visits here were drastically different. This place has a bit of everything, bourbon bastion, hotel, gastropub, store, everything. I found their wine list to be a bit over the top and expensive, not many offered in carafe and by the glass. OSB Off Site Bar is more of a creative space for brunches, snacks and more relaxed atmosphere. The beer is very Euro centric, lots of local, but also regional. Minus points for carry Budweiser and not Shlitz. An oddly high # of cans and fruit offerings. Their cocktail staff was a little bit dark on beer particulars. Only 1 nitro offering. Still very friendly if overwhelmed in offerings.

Loved they carried applejack and knew how to use it. House cocktails were reasonably priced and with 300+ whiskey offerings you can get lost. Love the flights and with dozens of drinking whiskies they really separated from just having old and rare’s.

Décor is great, lots of wood, natural light, still warm, not crowded, bathrooms weren’t half bad.

Breakfast I found eclectic. I’m stealing the PBR idea and ordering beer with all my breakfasts from now on. Great idea. My irish breakfast was great with my boilermaker. Blood sausage was the star of the show.

Dinner I had pretzel which was amazing, the spiced beef rinds were surprisingly good, though BBQ part could be lost. Octopus & Boudin Noir salad was great, just not as a salad. Smoked Clams, squid ink and crab streusel went great with my red The chef is the man having opah, they really are food forward here, just a little too rich and convoluded in vision.

Ok so onto the real reason I came here. Whiskey/Bourbon.

Had the E taster to start, worth it just the Willet 21year. I picked and chose each visit what I wanted and still spent a car payment with insurance and monthly gas amount in my short few days. Again I was appalled by seeing fireball, Queen bee and the like. Good prices on the stuff from the Far East. Cheap Red Breast, Most more known Scotches were inexpensive. A dozen whites to put you in your place. Really enjoyed the Parker’s heritage offerings. Plenty of Rye’s, too many to try. Just come for the whiskey or the food, but not both. They do so many things well, but still try way too many things to put them overall in the upper echelon. I’ll call it the everymans everyman sort of place.

Had a great dinner experience here while visiting. The whiskey drinks were good and in the $10 range and we sat at the bar before dinner service so we were one of the first ones to be seated. The food sounded and looked amazing and the taste was great as well. Very friendly staff and definitely a place to go to to unwind and have a few drinks.

I recommend you come before dinner service and have a drink to find parking and beat the crowd.

I like how creative their dishes are. Their descriptions make it look SO tasty and I would definitely order a lot of different dishes. I like that their menu values creativity and quality rather than an ordinary meal. Their brunch menu leans towards the savory side so keep that in mind. Alcohol for brunch is also cheap.

I ordered the duck confit hash. Although I liked the duck eggs, they tasted like bigger chicken eggs to me. The confit was okay -- but dry like confit was. I did not like the truffle vinegrette -- too sour for me and didn't pull the dish together.

I think this dish is overhyped but that wouldn't stop me from coming back and trying something else.

It's affordable but great quality. That's all you need when you want to eat out right? Good ambiance, great food, but not crazy expensive. I'm in.

5-star, laid-back, and new classic. This is a safe place to be adventurous, so it's a must to try new things. Their location is prime for an outdoor summertime dining experience. Our waiter Elisabeth made our experience top notch--she knew the menu as well as a chef and catered to what we were craving. All the staff was personable and attentive. Great job management. Thank you!
