03/01/2011 12:09 am![]() I will never go back here! My girlfriend and I came here for dinner because of the good reviews I read. We were very disappointed! The first thing I notices was the uncleaned tables. When we walked through the door they didn't say much and just pointed to an empty table. The chips & salsa was the only good part of the experience. They wanted to take our order almost immiediatly but we said we needed a minute. It took at least 15 minutes before the waitress came back to take our order. I ordered the giant burrito and it was soaked with grease as were the beans. I can't imagine eating this food regularly and living past 40. The kicker was after we ate and went to pay the check we stopped at the pastry cabinet to get something. When my girlfriend picked up a pastry we noticed that the bottom was covered in MOLD!!! When we told the lady at the register she offered no apology and said they should be fine because they have only been in there for four days. |

05/05/2009 12:58 pm![]() The owner/chef used to work for several famous downtown San Antonio mexican restaurants. Here you'll get top quality for a very reasonable price. The marinated beef fajitas (and flour tortillas) are always fresh made, very flavorful and tender - ask for some pico de gallo and guacamole on the side if you get fajita tacos a la carte. The best authentic frijoles a la charra in town. Good red sauce as well as smoky salsa de molcajete. Authentic limonada to cool you off. Feeling Tex-Mex - try the insanely good & inexpensive Las Carretas burrito, filled with refried beans and your choice of picadillo beef, chicken or beef fajitas, or regular stewed chicken, all topped with enchilada gravy & low-melt cheese. Oh yeah, chile rellenos filled with either picadillo beef or cheese, your choice! Closed Sunday, only open until 6 pm on Saturday. |
