Part of the McNally empire, this circa-1989 "mainstay" "off the beaten SoHo path" caters to a "casual, young" crowd in the mood for "standard" French bistro fare and late-night burgers at "fair" prices; a few find it "nothing special", and the "shabby-chic" interior can feel "cramped", but it's still a "magnet" for loyalists who come back "time and again."

This Place Is Very Racist Towards Black People...I Hosted A Birthday Party On March 14, 2015 & I Reserved 3 Lanes For 3 Hrs, I Had A Bus Transport Myself & 31 Others From New Jersey...Upon Arriving, I Got Off The Bus & Spoke With Security & I Entered Along With 6 Of My Guests...As I Was Speaking With The Event Coordinator Jessica, By the Way, She Was Very Sweet, I Was Alerted That My Guest's Weren't Being Allowed Entry Because They Were Wearing Timberland Boots...I Must Add That We're Black & Being DENIED Entry Inside The Bowling Alley...I Spoke To John The Manager On Duty About A Refund & After 30 Mins Of My Guests Being Detained Outside Of Lucky Strike, John Decided To Speak With Security & Allowed Us In...We Had A Great Time Despite Us Being Discriminated Against & It Clearly States In The Dress Code That Boots Are Allowed During The Winter Season, & I Watched 2 Spanish Guys Enter Wearing (((Timberland Construction Boots))) With No Problem...It's Unfortunate That Racism Still Exists...I Will Not Recommend This Place For Black People...Thumbs Down

Very disappointing. My steak frites had no flavor, and the service was lacking. Cute French vibe and great music, but I unfortunately won't be returning here for a meal.

Had a great time at this bar, the atmosphere is great and they play some awesome old school music.

I tried the summer salad to start-very very good. Loved it!

Also got the chicken sandwich with bacon-also very good. The bread was toasted and as so good. One of the best chicken sandwiches i have had.

The only reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the service and lack of beer choices. It really deserves 4.5 stars because of the food.

The food is great and I would love to back especially since it s such a neat place.

Ok this place is definitely an unreliable vibe / experience. I've been a patron for 5+ years and in the past year it has been many more misses than acceptable hits, so I no longer go here and head to Fanelli's instead where attitude is null.

Prices keep going up as well, while food quality is unstable.

The DJ during this visit was one of the WORST DJs (worst taste) I have ever heard in NYC, and blared the worst top 40 choices at full distorted volume (all treble, all bass, no midtones = chalkboard on your ears). You couldn't talk to anyone at your table, or enjoy your food in peace because of shouting drunk people in the front of the restaurant. Really, avoid this place when the shaved headed Korean DJ is playing because you'll feel like you're stuck at a bad Junior High School dance.

SO DIFFICULT TO EAT over all the noise. Why would you pay for a minimum $14 entree you can't enjoy because someone is tone deaf and trying to turn a restaurant into a Jersey night club (jumping, fist pumping) while you're in the middle of food. It's really uncomfortable.

Our waiter (a newer guy) was pretty cold and indifferent as well, and could care less about us.

Overall, while it can be good sometimes, it's simply TOO RISKY to take a date here. Just... have a backup restaurant... or turn right back around and walk out if a shaved head korean dj is playing, cause it ain't gonna be pretty. (p.s. I grew up in an asian hip hop ghetto, so if I thought this was bad... I'm just saying!)
