Pizza review!

Large (12") pizza with tomato sauce, cheese, sausage, and mushrooms. (Over $17)

CRUST - Homemade and hand tossed. Just about perfect.
SAUCE - Not a lot. Not a lot of flavor. A little more sauce would have been nice.
CHEESE - Plenty of coverage. Went all the way to the edge of the crust and was browned nicely.
TOPPINGS - Sausage was a fantastic. Mushrooms were canned. For the price, I kind of expected fresh mushrooms.

Good - crust, sausage, and cheese.
Bad - mushrooms and price.
Neutral - sauce.

Not the worst I've ever had, but not the best. If you can find a coupon, give it a try. Be prepared to pay dearly if you like your pizza loaded with toppings.

One of Akron's icons! Pizza and pasta are good, and the salad with mounds of cheese is memorable! Friendly staff! Expect to stand in line and don't forget to bring cash (I believe they are still cash only).

What appears to be a hole in the wall is a long standing tradition in Akron. The salad comes with more mozzarella than lettuce, the spaghetti is great, as is the Italian sub. There are only two places near me where I truly enjoy the pizza. Luigi's is number one!

Overpriced Italian food with an "award winning pizza" label and a fake mom and pop Italian restaurant decor. Didn't except cash but was gladly able to take my atm card for their in house atm machine. The food was on the same level as Pizza Hut. The wall is covered with old black and white photos of local celebrities that have stopped by...I'm sure they are all dead....I don't blame them after one visit to this pretentious place you will want that same fate!

After flying in for business I asked a couple customers where to eat, both said logos, granted they were dentally challenged. Looked cute mom and pop Italian place we all know and love. Once you go in it all goes downhill.

To begin they have a bunch of college and high school kids working there, most not polite not very helpful. Asked to see if I can plug in my phone, the girl had no idea of where there was an outlet, then said she'll need to get permission came back and then said it was against their policy. Sat down, waited for five minutes for service, then flagged down a waitress. got the slice of pizza and salad combo and ordered the meatball sub thing. Prices were fair. Problem is the food was below average. Salad was whatever, the meatball sub was a giant meatball on top of a tomato sauce soaked piece of bread and cheese. The pizza was absolute rubbish. All I could think of when I received it was bowling alley pizza. Tons of cheese, three pieces of Pepperoni and no sauce. Quite shocked considering they are known for having the best pizza in Akron. I personally thought this was one of the worst slices of pizza I've ever had in my life. Maybe the people in Akron really do think DiGiornios is better than restaurant pizza because in this instance it is. Don't waste your time find somewhere else to eat unless you're a poor college kid, then enjoy .
