09/29/2013 8:56 pmI came here for an event on the second floor recently. It is a nice little lounge with friendly staff. It was a little bit tight for a large crowd, but generally a nice place. I would like to return and see what it is like on a normal night. |

05/06/2013 3:37 pmThe bar has this interesting, dark, and mysterious atmosphere that is great for dates. There is a little room/ private booth on the main floor and another small room upstairs for extra privacy. The drinks are a good price and the bartenders are friendly. |

04/07/2013 3:46 pmWalking into Madame X, you might be surprised that it is actually darker than most city streets at night. This is due to the red lighting throughout the bar and lounge (don't worry, your eyes will adjust soon enough) which is the theme this bar aims for - the red light district. Still, it remains classy with its outdoor garden and elegant lounge area where I spent most of my time. |

04/02/2013 12:33 pmMadame X is a sexy bar/lounge that's more on the low-key side. There's a bar in the front portion and lots of settees and armchairs in the back; the lounge area is dimly lit with red lights and adds to the "sexy" atmosphere. Good for a drink before catching a movie at the Angelika or to start off your night, but probably not somewhere I'd spend an evening at. |

03/28/2013 5:29 pmNot a bad spot if you want to stop for a drink before starting your night. On weeknights, the vibe stays social and civilized. There is plenty of lounge seating in the back room lit only with red light. However, there is only so much time one can spend in this cheesy redlight district themed joint before feeling the need to move on to fresher establishments. |

10/31/2011 1:51 pmGreat for private parties. I threw myself a 30th birthday here in which I reserved the whole upper level for my friends, and it worked out great. For four hours in the upstairs space, they require a $1200 bar guarantee (as of Jan 2011), but this includes tips and was easy to meet with my group of about 50 - 60. Since there was no actual fee and I had been prepared to drop a couple hundred on a party anyway, one thing I did that I'd recommend is buying some drink tickets. That way I could pass them out to broke friends & folks who showed up early while not having to deal with the expense of an open bar. And the drink tickets counted toward the bar guarantee. I'll probably have another party here in the future as I had a great experience. |
