Maxie B's, Greensboro, North Carolina Restaurant Details

I ordered a cake for a family birthday and requested that the cake be decorated. They charged me an extra $5 to decorate the cake - which was fine, but when I picked the cake up, it was far from decorated. They had stuck two very small pre-made flowers on the cake, and that was it. I asked them to add more to it, and they removed the two original pink flowers and stuck three other white flowers on the cake. It was pitiful to say the least. I took the cake and called back later to complain to the manager, who said they really don't decorate the cakes. Then, why do you say you do AND why you charge an extra fee to decorate the cake ?????? I will never go back there.

I have been a Maxi B's customer for many years now and have actually referred a lot of my friends and family (who have continued to bring their friends and family) to the bakery. It used to be so good, but as many of you have probably noticed, the more quantity of people equals the less quality the product is. I am very disappointed in how they have slacked off. My favorite cake is Vanilla and if my friends and I do go here, I can't even order white cake because it is terribly dry! I have even had stale cakes before and when I emailed them, they blamed it on ME for not allowing it to thaw...which is funny because it didn't even reach my fridge. Step it up guys, you're losing loyal customers and a lot of people are noticing you slacking off! Also, your girls are always extremely rude to me. Try teaching them customer service!

I've always loved Maxie B's so I didn't hesitate choosing them to make my wedding cake. The cake was perfect (as expected) and the entire experience was flawless. They have the process down pat! (I'm wondering if the folks complaining about cakes being dry have followed instructions to let the cake reach room temperature?!)

Visited NC........and I may say the atmosphere was good! Once I seen that it was a line!!! I know I was going to enjoy! Carrot Cake and Sour Cream icing Pound Cake (Slices)! Mmmm....... good :) I will return on my next visit "Every One Needs an Awesome Slice of Cake"
