I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could! Amazing service, amazing dishes, amazing management, wonderful atmosphere and amazing mixed drinks/bar. This is the freshest and most authentically spiced Indian food that I have had outside of India. The buffet is splendid with the freshest and highest choices of vegetarian that anyone could ask for. Nothing is day old, frozen or canned in this kitchen. Over ten chutneys to choose from and the spice level is rich and hot. Lots and lots of fresh leafy and cucumber selection to cool your tongue. Constant plate and refill service. This place is wildly popular for a very good reason- get there early or be prepared to wait inline a bit. The dinning room is very large and open. Modern music and classic Bollywood scenes create a stylish oasis.

I went to eat the restaurant on 4th May. I guess the chef wanted to see how strong our teeth are and also our digestion power. The eggplant cut for Pakoras were uneven big chunks which were not cooked at all. My stomach was upset after eating here. Some of the chutneys in the menu are traditionally served wiith Idli, Dosa which was not on the menu but chutneys were there. The naans were little undone...pretty much disappointment.

The food was either incredibly spicy or bland, and everyone in our party was disappointed. Waitress was incredibly rude. Better to go eat Indian at Chai Pani in Asheville where the staff is super friendly and the food is Amazing.

Melas has the best Indian food in town, except that if you are a vegetarian there is a lack of protean, I asked the manager to provide dal or some other vegeatable protean every day but it hasn't happened, another Indian resturant has it every day but aside from that I like Melas better

Delicious food, properly spiced (hot where needed, and favor everywhere)

The samosa was possibly the lightest we'd ever had, and the camaro was very tasty. Their side salad also had a deliciously unique vinaigrette.

Chicken tikka was superb, and the pistachio lamb special was awesome.

Can't move. In the best way possible!
