Mi Tio's Mexican Restaurant, Lubbock, Texas, Mexican Restaurant Details

Food:

Just had lunch here with my husband and the food was pretty good, but nothing extraordinary. The prices are great, especially for the amount of food you get and kids eat free on Mondays!.

I have to say this restaurant has the most beautiful decor of any restaurant in Lubbock. The walls are painted with exquisite murals and the atmosphere is very relaxing. They do not have music playing, which was a little odd to me and it seemed too quiet.

They have a very nice patio with a stage and said in the summer they have bands out there. They had $1.99 margarita specials posted and it definitely looks like I will be going back!

Food:

Rice had been sitting too long. Too much salt in the meat. Sopapilla' s are suppose to be poofy not flat. Would not recommend this restaurant to a friend.

Good Mexican restaurant! I had enchiladas here and they were quite good! Rosa's would still be my preferred place to eat Mexican food in Lubbuck but Mi Tio's is still pretty decent.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! I just dropped by this restaurant to get a take out order. 1:15, very few people here. A young woman met me at the front door and asked "What I wanted", told her I would like a to go order. She immediately asked "What do you want"? May I please see a menu? How am I supposed to know what I want, I haven't seen the menu? She kind of tossed me a menu and said she would be back. I sat the menu down and left. I drove down the street and stopped at a place called Cancun's, I was greeted at the door by someone smiling and excited to have me in their restaurant. The food and service at CANCUN was wonderful. I have a great new place to eat. Mi Tio's? I will never be back.

I live just around the corner from this place. We go here a couple of time a year. Food is really JUST OK. Service has always been horrible. The wait staff doesnt seem to care how long you sit and wait on them, your food, drinks or check. They are nice though, just not attentive as they really should be. Their queso tastes like cheezwiz with rotel, so not good. Salsa is tinny from canned tomatoes. But the tacos are ok and the mexican lasagna is good. I dont know, this place is kind of hit or miss with everything. Will continue to go and hope that service gets better, but it probably wont.
