This was my first time eating Cuban food so I walked in not knowing what to expect. The Café was small but very delightful. We were immediately seated and served by a waitress that kept a smile at all times. She was very friendly and seemed like she enjoyed working at Mimitas. My dad, curious about what food was good, asked the waitress for some recommendations to which she swiftly responded with multiple food choices such as a garbanzo bean soup and croquettes. We decided to get both the croquettes, which tasted like a mozzarella stick with bacon even though it was ham and the garbanzo bean soup which was called Potaje de Garbanzo. We received our drinks at the same time and received our main dishes 15 minutes later.
I ordered the hamburguesa Cubana with yuca fritas. My family and I shared our meals which including mine were pan con lechon, the sandwich Cubano, and arroz imperial. The hamburguesa Cubana tasted like chorizo with the texture of tender steak and the yuca fritas reminded me of potato wedges if they were breaded. The pan con lechon that my dad ordered was just as good as my meal; it had savory pulled pork and a variance of spices that blended sensationally. The sandwich Cubana was what I would consider their signature dish. The sandwich tasted as if it was filled with rich jalapeño cream cheese but that wasn’t the case. The sandwich was filled with soft, indulging, ham and cheese alongside a special sauce that contained bits of jalapeño. The final meal that was ordered by my brother was the arroz imperial. This was filled with enhanced flavor due to the saffron and it made me envious about not ordering it. Even after filling myself with my meal I sought to have some more of this dish.
Mimitas was a wonderful café and had unbelievable food. While people may believe Cuban food is like Mexican food, I can tell you it is not. This has opened up my options when trying food as well. For someone that has never tried Cuban food, I would recommend this place before any other.

This restaraunt had a good atmosphere, good staff, and really awesome food. I ordered Cuban coffee, and although it was small, it was very rich; no cream needed. My sister got a canned pineapple soda, which was good if you like pineapple-y food (me) and my mom a mamey milkshake, which had an interesting yet not unsavory taste.
For an appetizer, we ordered plantain chips served with a sweet sauce made of sautéed garlic with oil. The chips were surprisingly flavorful with the sauce; we devoured the whole pile quickly. I then ordered a main dish called “Bistec a la milanesa”, a layering of beef, breaded covering, marinara sauce, ham, and melted Swiss cheese, which tasted amazing and was very filling. My sister ordered “Arroz Imperial” a bowl filled with saffron rice, shredded chicken, and melted cheese, which was good as well.
We had black beans and rice as well as sweet plantains, which were a little too sugary for me, but still decent. Lastly, we got toasted bread which, despite the plain name, was actually very delicious and different. For dessert: Cuban dulce de leche flavored with lime and cinnamon. It was sweet and sticky and quite delicious.

Finally found a great cuban restaurant in the valley. Drove by thousand times and decided to give it a try with a special coupon. Surprisingly it's really authentic cuban food.

The place is bigger than it look from outside and the waitress were very nice and friendly. The owner also came to say hi and asked if there is anything to improve. Had wonderful lunch experience at the place. Will come back again.

My GF and I have been here many, many times and love it every time. We try to order something new everytime so we get a new surprise every visit. Tonight I had #410 with chicken, and it was amazing. My GF ordered #306, usually I don't like pork but I had to have a taste because it looked so good. Like everything I have had on their menu it was great. I highly recommend Mimita's!
