Pretentious crowd. Steak was good and the atmosphere was dim lighted but overpriced.

The Cajun ribeye is amazing! Literally, life changing good! Pairs well with the Spellbound Petite Sirah. Also love the au gratin potatoes and balsamic glazed asparagus.

After reviewing the list of restaurants that were participating with Restaurant Week, my girlfriend, my sister & her boyfriend, and I decided to give Morton's a go.
First - the location wasn't terrible but of course we had to pay for parking. This really wasn't a big deal but honestly everything adds up in the end.
Second - we all looked over the menu and immediately noticed that there was nothing on the menu indicating their participation w/ Restaurant Week. We found it strange and somewhat disconcerting that we had to ask our waiter for the Restaurant Week menu. Again, not a big deal but why wasn’t at least one Restaurant Week menu given out?
Third – once we asked for the Restaurant Week menu we quickly noticed a drastic drop in the attention given to our table.
Fourth – the food was average to below average. I am not sure how the steaks are normally cooked at Morton’s but three out of the four of us got steaks and all of our steaks were charred/ borderline burned on the outside. So, with every bite you got this somewhat burn’t/overcooked taste lingered. The creamed spinach was just ok and the Mac N Cheese wasn’t much better.

Overall, we were all extremely disappointed with the entire Morton’s experience. From the moment we walked in we felt out of place as it seemed the restaurant catered specifically to an older demographic; it seemed like we were the only patrons in our mid-to-late twenties. Yes, it could have been completely coincidental, however, it seemed a bit odd. The highlight of the meal was the sangria my girlfriend ordered; she loved it! Even if it was an off night in the kitchen we would at least had hoped for exceptional service, especially for the amount we paid ($60+ per person).

My husband had come to this steak house to treat his parents four years ago, and had an amazing experience, so for Resturant Week he surprised me with reservations for dinner. He ordered the pork chop, I ordered the filet. My meal was cooked to perfection, with the horseradish mashed potato portion a bit small. His pork chop, which the server inquired his preference (odd) he requested cooked to medium, came out impressively large on the plate. He sliced a portion for me, and when I tasted it, it was tough, dry, and tasted of disgustingly heavy salt and to a lesser degree, cayenne pepper. I commented, and suggested he scrape the rub off to continue eating. He got three inches into the chop, and getting my attention he asked me to double check, the center was raw. I am very familiar with cooking pork, and it must be cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 145-160 to render it safe from the consumer being at risk for trichinosis. Upon getting a waiters attention, and showing him the raw meat, he commented that it was common for people to request their meat rare, medium rare, and corrected me when I made a puzzled face and replyed that it was pork....he assured me, yes for pork. He offered to have the kitchen cook it a little more. My husband said while he would eat the pork, he would prefer to switch to the filet.
The management gave my husband (who was willing to eat the reheated pork) the option of the filet, which he took. I am disappointed with the managements claims of an excellent proprietary pork chop rub and recipe, the suggestion that we were simply unfamiler with this Chicago style of pork chop, and with the staff ignorance of food safety. We were made to wait a lengthy time between courses, were unable to eat our meals together, and made to wait for the bill. Our waiter while kind and courteous-tried to get us to apply for a brand credit card at the end of the evening, when we simply wanted to pay the bill and leave. My husband and I enjoy fine dining when we go out but even understanding that Morton's is a chain-we expected better.
Disappointing and unacceptable.

I have so much to say but I'll keep it short and sweet! My family celebrated my grandmothers birthday and it was fabulous! George was the BEST waiter! He made everyone in my party so welcomed and comfortable. The food of course was amazing. It was such an amazing experience!! Thank you so much George if you ever read this!!
