Food:

One star for the food. It was terrible even for pub grub standards. One star for having to go and order your food at the grill. Now I get why the cocktail servers only serve the booze. They would lose tips based on all the food that would be sent back. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is that they allow dogs on the patio. The drinks we got were good but not good enough to bump the rating up to three. Man! The food was that bad.

Not a good experience. Walk-up and order at the counter, expected to wait 10-15 minutes maybe for our sandwiches. Nope. It took 45 minutes. The sandwiches where fine, but not worth the wait. The kitchen is open to the rest of the restaurant but the staff did not seem to be in a rush to get food out.

Okay bar. Decent food. Good variety of fresh dishes and homestyle. Good place to watch soccer matches. During football game weekends it gets packed.

I had walked past this place many times but went there on a Thursday evening with about 16 friends and had a great time. Good selection of local microbrews, not overwhelming with TVs (though enough to watch a game) or loud music. Possible to carry on a conversation. Good bar food, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere for my taste. Good service and variety of seating options. The owner is a supporter of liberal causes like about 75% of all the places and people in Madison Wisconsin. If you want to watch Limbaugh at a Madison restaurant you are likely to be disappointed. Walker supporters take their party to Waukesha.
