Though the menu is exclusively plant-based, "meat eaters will not go home hungry" at this European-influenced, rustic-chic Concordia vegetarian where "˜wholesome food" that's "beyond delicious" comes à la carte or as part of a fixed-price meal with optional wine pairings; prices can get "expensive", but service is "attentive" and devotees maintain the experience of "art on a plate" is "worth each and every penny"; P.S. closed Sunday"Tuesday.

Had an amazingly good experience at this place in which I can honestly say I've NEVER had food this good. I highly recommend the extra money for the wine pairing.
The flavors are a roller coaster of different aromas, textures and seasonal delicacies.
It's my new favorite for Portland by far. All while being a quanter and comfortable space with actually extremely humble staff and chefs. Nothing beats this place hands down!

Amazing. We went for the first time last night after talking about it for years. The best meal we have ever had. Seriously. I was sure it was over-hyped, but nearly every course was mind-blowing. They know what they are doing there.

First of all I am from Florida and finding vegan/vegetarian options is almost impossible so when traveling in Portland to find this place was a God sent.

The neighborhood is so lovley. It's the art district with great little shops around and lots of restaurants and bars. Finding parking can be a challenge but worth it for this restaurant.

It is has a wonder intimate atmosphere, lovley place setting and very friendly staff. The menu is seasonal so there will be limited options, but I like that I don't have to flip through pages of decisions. It is 45 dollars for a 4 course meal and each item is marked as either vegan, veg or gluten free.

The offer a wine pairing for each course, which I didn't do but looked nice, and a ovley array of gourmet cocktails. I got a Lavender cocktail that has edible flowers on it and it was incredible. They serve your yor own glass bottle of water which is left on the table for you.

I was served and a small appetizer which was a fresh tortilla chip with carrot purer and a fresh salsa. Nice!

Then the first course of carmelized onion and sweet potato soup. It was delicious I ate it all. Then a well timed second course salad came and normally I don't care for the bitterness of Mustad greens however the figs, heirloom tomatoes, currents and dressing made it unnoticeable. Ate all of that, then the well timed main course came. It was a coconut curry rice with other delicious things also very good.

Once that was done they seven a palate cleanser which was a lemon ice of sorts in a martini glass. Perfect! Then on to dessert... ok this chocolate banana peanut butter layered desert was rich and wonderful and each layer complimented each other. It was also served with a peanut butter flax cookie. Having gmade cookies like these before at home I was impressed with the texture and bake on these, they are perfected and so delicious.

I am honestly impressed and extremely full. If you're not used to earing a 4 course meal be careful not to over eat. My stomach felt as it would explode. But that's my own fault.

Overall this place is a treasure and when I return to Portland it will be my go to spot for sure.

This is a vegetarian's dream dinner. Four course meal (HIGHLY suggested versus ordering one or two things off the menu)...the dessert is often my favorite part of the meal. I love that they use a fresh selection of what's in season versus throwing in any fake meat or cheese, etc. You will be proud to be a vegetarian after this meal. It's definitely a dining experience, however, as do not even count on leaving there in under two hours. They take good care of you though and its well worth it- just don't be in a rush and enjoy every course.

Vegans and vegetarians are often left out in the cold at fine-dining restaurants, but my dinners at Natural Selection have been some of the best dining experiences I've had, anywhere in the country. The food, wine pairings, lighting, music, and ambiance all combine for a warm & unique feel, and a wonderful evening. I recommend this restaurant highly.
