Have always had a good experience. The sushi is amazing. Jalapeño yellow tail is the best. Always up for a return visit.

Great restaurant with some cool interior art deco going on. Amazing sushi, some of the best you're going to get in Manhattan. I also had a very unique Chilean sea bass with some pickled cauliflower. Great experience.

Had a wonderful lunch at Nobu. I haven't been there in years and came with a friend who had never been before, so we asked the waitress to bring a bunch of signature dishes for sharing. She did very well with recommendations and kept the food coming at a perfect pace, since we told her we didn't have a lot of time. Ambiance was nice. Crowd was alright - a mix of business lunchers and women who don't have to work for a living.

-- Tuna tartar - excellent

-- Yellowtail and jalapeno sashimi - fantastic

-- Fluke sashimi with miso powder and garlic chips - ok, but both my friend and I thought miso and garlic overpowered the fish. Could have easily skipped this one.

-- Rock shrimp tempura - very good, but nothing you haven't had before

-- Miso cod - pure silk! A must dish ever single time you eat here.

-- Sushi plate. Ok, so there is a universal consensus that sushi at Nobu is nothing special and can be easily skipped. But my friend was curious and insisted on having a sampling. The eel-avocado and California maki rolls were truly unremarkable and unimpressive. And at $12 each - unconscionable. But the sushi was a very pleasant surprise. We got the basic: tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. All the fish was fresh, of excellent quality, and beautifully cut. Yellowtail was especially good. Glad my friend made me order it!

-- Banana Soy Toban dessert - Oh. My. God. This is saying a lot for dessert, but it was the most incredible, most memorable dish of the entire meal. So good! Must have, unless you absolutely hate bananas.

Food was excellent. Service wasn't that great. Rude wait staff. Hostesses were nice and welcoming though.

This was a very special treat to have a meal here. Ambience was luxurious but not overwhelming. Our server was extremely attentive and polite. The sushi and sashimi were outstanding! My wife also enjoyed the nubu ceviche.
Portions were actually a bit larger than I was expecting. As you may be aware, this establishment is not cheap! Prepare to spend a couple hundred dollars. The probibitive cost will prevent most people from coming here more than once a blue moon, so I had to knock off one star.
