Noble had a fairly small menu, a somewhat stuffy atmosphere, and pretty high prices considering what ended up on the plate. Fortunately I had a huge lunch prior to going so I wasn't too disturbed by this, but if I were hungry, I would have been (takeaway, if you're hungry and want to get full for less than $50, this is probably not your place). Additionally, the wait in between courses was ridiculously long. Imagine getting a tiny appetizer and then waiting 30 minutes to get a tiny second course. That was my experience at Noble.

That said, the food itself was really good, thus warranting the 3 stars. I had the bass which had a nice crisp top but was juicy and flavorful inside, and served with nicely cooked bok choy. A really nice combination.

Everything was delicious and balanced but not gimmicky.

We had reservations at Noble this past weekend and I've been very suprised to see these high ratings when our experience there was less than average.
Food Quality: We ordered the "chick pea side dish", several other appetizers, Gnocchi and Cow Cheeks for the main dish along with drinks and dessert. The chick peas had a very string smoke flavor that could not have been created without the use of "flavoring agents" which was very unusual - especially since this was not in the description of the dish. Gnocchi was very bland and had a doughy mouth feel. It lacked a complementary condiment such as a crunchy vegetable or sauce and the cow's cheek was very very fatty causing sever antacid a few hours after the dinner. The owner rude - he explained to me that our Groupon could notbe used since several of our drinks were happy hour prices and he had to add the full price (which amounted to $6)....seriously $6 on a $140 bill. Fine with me...but this act of trying to save $6 does not exactly build customer loyalty. The environment is actually pretty good, but the portion size, quality and the overall service is not commensarute with the price. Your money is better spent at any other 4 or 5 start restaurant.

Our first time to Noble was a smashing success. After 2 rounds of expertly poured drinks we sat down to a thoughtfully prepared and eclectic four-course tasting menu. The king salmon crustini was the highlight, followed very closely by the duck confit, and finally the hangar steak with quinoa. Each course along with desert was well paired with generous pours of exciting wines from California. The service was excellent throughout and the price was astoundingly reasonable: 2 rounds of drinks and 4 courses with wine pairing and gratuity, just under $400. Expect to pay twice that in Philly for the same quality of food and service. Highly Recommended.

My husband and I went to try and check out the menu and possible dine at this restaurant. When we walked up to this restaurant, sitting on the counter where you could dine outside was the menu. I proceeded to look at the menu because there were none posted outise for us to look at. The hostess or waitress abruptly took the menu from us, said nothing and walked away. I was appauled at the kind of service and the treatment we received even before we stepped foot in the door. If thats the type of service you receive for trying to look at their menu, who knows what kind of horrible service you will receive once your in the door. I will never go back there. We proceeded down the street to Melagranos Restaurant and received an excellent meal with excellent service.
