Our party of friends had dinner here last Tuesday, Sept. 16. The food was good but the server's attitude and rudeness at the end of the evening ruined a great experience. He apparently didn't know how to incorporate a groupon coupon into the bill that one of us had. Even when his behaviour was pointed out to him and he was reassured that everything would be worked out he still was belligerent and rude. If he's manners were better I'd be giving this review a better star value.

I'm torn between a 3.5 and 4. We went on a Tuesday night and unfortunately changed our reservations from 8pm to 6pm so that we could go downtown afterwards. I wish we would've kept original time because the view is beautiful and I think the night lights would've made the experience even better.

Now- for the food...the shrimp francaise was my favorite part of the meal. Came with four butterflied shrimp and a sauce that is out of this world! If everything was as good as the shrimp, the review would be a 5+!

For the entrees- my husband ordered the baked penne and he said it was good but the sausage wasn't as good as Gino's Italian Restaurant in little old Kearney, Missouri. I wanted pasta so bad, but I'm not a big seafood person and the chicken parm didn't come with pasta (come on now, Olive Garden serves it with pasta!) so I wimped out and ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Then I talked my self into changing my order to chicken parm with a side of spaghetti. When we got the meal- no spaghetti. I asked the gentleman who brought it about the pasta and he said the ordered had been changed from spaghetti to chicken parm, so I left without my pasta at an Italian restaurant- which was sad. By the time our server came back around, it was too late to get the pasta. The chicken parm was good- but it wasn't any better than Olive Garden and again- our favorite little Italian restaurant in Kearney blows Nove's chicken parm away.

I did like our server, but his helper girl who filled our water and cleared our table was much more attentive. Also- being there at 6pm, they weren't really busy at all. It was evident they work in teams, but I was surprised he wasn't around more throughout the meal. We saw him when we ordered and paid and then once after our food arrived. Our server had 3 tables, so I was a little disappointed that he didn't get the pasta right.

I had purchased a groupon ($40 for $80 of items). If this Groupon is still available I highly recommend getting it (if you don't mind getting looked down upon for using a coupon in a fine dining establishment). However, I didn't mention the groupon until we got our check. I looked over the ticket and the spaghetti was still on there- not a big deal, I just asked him to take it off. Then he said it would take 5-10 minutes to get the groupon taken care of. That's never happened before when I've used a groupon- they just deduct the amount and go from there, but the manager had to come over and get on the register and do some calculating. The groupon was split up funky on the ticket AND they had added gratuity on to the check. This wasn't on there when he brought me the first check. That aggravated me at first, but then if you read in the fine print- it's listed on the Groupon. If we didn't have the Groupon, we wouldn't have eaten here. I know people are all about spending money if Vegas, but we are usually pretty smart with our money. I think Nove is overpriced, but so is everything in Vegas. If you are staying at The Palms, it's definitely worth a try- even if you go up for shrimp francaise and dessert. (I saw several people order the cheesecake and it looked delicious! It's a very large portion). If you're on the strip, and want to get off the main drag for a killer view, it would be a good choice. Travel tip- Bally's has a free shuttle (The BigBus) that will take you to Gold Coast Casino. It's right across the street from The Palms- which in Vegas right across the street is still a bit of a walk- but it was free and pretty quick.

Had the best steak and the freshest, most well prepared sushi of my life! Everything from the food---the service--the drinks--were outstanding!
