"Unchanged in 50 years", this moderate Marcy-Holmes supper club is a "blast from the past", with "tacky but fun decor" and "friendly" lifer waitresses hoisting platters of "hearty" Polish "peasant food"; once you've had your fill, head to the adjacent "sing-along" piano bar starring the "craziest polka band ever", for an evening where "all generations mix and party together."

I had to try this place out after it was featured on Esquire's Best Bars in America list. Wow, did Esquire get this one wrong - the place is a complete dump. As a frequent visitor to Hamtramck, and growing up in a Polish kitchen, I know Polish food, or at least Polish-American food. As a frequent bar patron, I also know what should be expected in a bar. This place misses so many marks, it has me questioning my Esquire subscription completely.

The bar is a dump. That would be fine, if that's their goal, but this place is just waiting to close (which it will in January 2016, I think... that couldn't come quick enough). Seats are shredded, and the place just looks dirty. Before they close, they are hoping to fleece as much money out of you as possible by over priced EVERYTHING.

We couldn't get out of there quick enough. My wife actually felt uncomfortable it was so run down and decrepit. I'm sure it was a great place in the past. Just not anymore.

Minneapolis Classic! I've never eaten anything. Just gone for drinks. There is no where else in mn quite like this bar.

I have been going to Nye's for over 30 years. My favorite bar. Dana was on the piano the other night and she was great. Super musically and had an edge to her that I liked. Crowd is always enjoyable with mixed ages and a great place to hang out with sociable people. I like the long bar and also the piano bar. Sad to see Nye's is closing.

Super sketchy and I wouldn't want it any other way. The place reminded me of an old vegas buffet or maybe a TRUE dive bar. This isn't where hipsters go to instagram their way into online infamy. The guy next to me sat there for an hour drinking whiskey and reading a newspaper and then dropped 10 dollars on the table and left. This place knows what it is, doesn't deviate from it and I wouldn't have it any other way.
