10/13/2013 8:17 pmBreakfast here is truly a treat! They have the best sausage biscuits and gravy I've had in NOLA. Their hot cocoa is also very good. On Saturday mornings they have a live piano and bass player which adds to the fun, cheery atmosphere. |

08/15/2011 11:11 amThis is one of the few places in town I've found to get fresh donuts. For a city that loves some high-fat, high-calorie treats, New Orleans just doesn't seem that big on donuts, but they're my all-time favorite junk food, and the Oak Street Cafe delivers by having fresh, high-quality donuts brought in every morning. Other things not to be missed: cilantro lime Eggs Benedict, the General Lee breakfast po'boy (sausage, egg, and white gravy), excellent homemade biscuits, and Mexican Cokes in glass bottles. Service is always friendly and quick. I have one small criticism, which I will temper by saying that I intend on being a customer as long as I live in the area... the prices, in my opinion, are just a tad to the expensive side. Not bad, but don't be surprised if you spend $12-$15 on breakfast including a drink and maybe a donut or two (which I do recommend that you do, of course). |

04/04/2011 4:45 amBest breakfast restaurant in the city. Okay, so I may be biased since I know the owner, but if you go a couple of times, you'll know him too. Really amazing food, and if you go on the right day (I always go on sundays) you get to hear live jazz. Great stuff. The atmosphere is really nice too. |
