03/28/2014 11:41 pmREALLY cranky waitstaff/bartenders. The food is great, the drink selection is great, but their attitudes just suck so much that it's not at all worth going there. Pro Tip: Don't go anywhere that there is an absolutely guaranteed, preferably freshly-21 audience. There's nothing this place offers that makes it worth the awful attitude of everyone who works there. |

03/20/2014 8:14 pmI am a UNCG student and I've been at UNCG for four years, thus I am senior. I told myself before I graduate I want to try this place out. I went there at 1p one day and got a chicken philly sandwich. I phoned in my order because I had class at 2p so I had to get going. The only reason why I did not rate them 5 stars is because I tried calling for over 8 minutes back to back and their phone line was always busy. So it took me about 10 mins to get someone on the phone to place my to-go order. However, when I got my food it was delicious. I was there was a little more cheese, but the chicken itself and the sauce the chicken was in was GOOD! It came with a side item for $8. I got french fries and they were the show string type. Not my fave, but not bad. My food was good and I would recommend this place for lunch. |

10/21/2013 9:40 amOld Town has a wonderful location right on the UNCG campus. Because of this, this establishment makes it convenient and easy for college students and local professionals alike. I love the outdoor seating with a great view of campus. They always have good drink specials and the food is not half bad for being bar food. The chicken philly is renowned and they have many light snacks to please the masses. Service is hit or miss and depends on when you are there so keep that in mind. |

10/09/2013 2:47 pmI don't go to places where I feel like I can't tip well, and Old Town is off my list. Almost uniformly surly staff, and I just feel bad for the rare ones that aren't. While the food is great bar food, it's not good enough to warrant putting up with the attitude problem (both experienced first-hand and witnessed while watching strangers at the bar). My most recent (fifth) trip was definitely my last. They seem to be coasting on their location in lieu of actual quality service or bar tending skills. Walk the extra 1/4 mile to anywhere on Tate or down Spring Garden and get equivalent food and drinks with an infinitely better atmosphere. |
