Olde Harbor Inn, Akron, Ohio, Seafood Restaurant Details

Food:

Food is average and the drinks are decently priced. More of a summertime place. Hate that they close so damn early. Sit down for a beer and then have to leave as it's closing time at 10 pm.

Food:

Dining upstairs always a treat. The lake view changes seasonally and adds to the atmosphere. Waitstaff eager to please. Good food,nice presentation, excellent bar and decent wine selection.

Good seafood & steak. Atmosphere ok, but noisy. Upper room has nice view of lake.

THE FOOD IS OK SOMETIMES BUT YOU CAN'T ALWAYS COUNT ON THAT. THIS WILL BE OUR LAST TIME FOR SURE. NEW OWNER HAS ESTABLISHED RECENT POLICY OF TINY PORTIONS, HIGH PRICES, MEDIOCRE FOOD, AND POOR SERVICE. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO INCREASE PROFITS. YOU RECEIVE SMALL PORTIONS AND HAVE TO PAY FOR A SALAD. WE EAT OUT FREQUENTLY AND LOVE TO DINE AT HIGHER END RESTAURANTS THAT SERVE FINE FOOD WITH GOOD PORTIONS AND VALUE. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. FOR STARTERS THE WAITER LAID DIRTY MENUS ON THE CLEAN SILVERWARE. THEY WERE NOT BUSY BUT THE SERVICE WAS BAD BAD BAD. OUR MEALS CAME AFTER A LONG WAIT BUT WE HAD TO SEND THE SMALL PORTION OF FISH LINDA HAD BACK TO BE COOKED. WHEN WE MENTIONED THE PORTION OF VEGETABLES WAS TINY THE RESPONSE CAME "THAT WAS STANDARD". NOT MUCH OF AN APOLOGY FOR THE UNDER COOKED FISH, YOU CAN COUNT ON A LARGE BILL WITH A SMILE. A FEW DAYS LATER I DID CALL THE OWNER BUT HE DID NOT GIVE MUCH OF A PLAUSIBLE EXPLANATION OR MUCH ENCOURAGEMENT FOR CHANGE. HE DID SAY THEY WERE A FIRST CLASS ESTABLISHMENT WITH GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE. WHAT A JOKE. IF YOU READ SOME OF THE MORE RECENT REVIEWS IT WILL GIVE A CLUE TO WHAT YOU SHOULD DO. DO NOT GO THERE

I have dined three times in the last two months. The food and service are exceptional. Steve (the owner) does an excellent job making sure that everything is perfect. Food is top notch, right portion, right flavor and excellent presentation in fine dining. They have dishes for the simple to the complex pallet. Great desserts and coffee to round everything out.
