Love the environment! Very clean and the owner is a SUPER guy, making sure we were all happy :) thanks Bill!!!

The bar is a wreck and the bar staff is less than courteous. They spent most of the time we were there arguing with each other and complaining about the other members of the bar and wait staff when they weren't arguing. The atmosphere it created was visibly tense.
We also witnessed a waiter come behind the bar and deposit a small sample of a drink he was picking up in his mouth with a stir straw, he then placed placed the straw back in the glass and took it to the table he was serving...

We were perpetually ignored and decided not to prolong our stay despite enjoying the live band. I had had a previous experience at this location two years ago that was nothing but positive and had looked forward to introducing my new fiance to this bar. Needless to say we both left disappointed.

I have worked in more than 5 high volume bars in my life and have never seen anything quite so disorderly. This place is prime real estate and it really has a lot going for it... What it needs is someone to come in and organize not only the staff but the bar area itself.

Food:

I have been to Olive or Twist many times, mostly for dancing. The music is always good and it's a nice place to do a little dancing. Good floor and rarely too crowded to enjoy dancing. I would characterize it as the place the "locals" go. I've eaten there several times and always find the food to be very good. Last night I had their wonderful crab cakes with a scrumptious curry sauce. It was marvelous and I will go back just for them!

Went here to hear some live music. It was an experience. The atmosphere is classy. No dress code. Is suggest jeans and a nice shirt or polo. The food was really good. We had fried green tomatoes, shrimp, and chicken quesadillas. We had peach cobbler for dessert. 3 glasses of wine. $58.00. Service was great. Good date place when the live music isn't loud.

We went here even though other reviews were "luke warm". We travel a great deal and spend a lot of time looking for unique and hopefully locally owned restaurants. Enter the Olive or Twist.

The atmosphere and ambience was exactly what we wanted, the menu was solid and the location great.

The service was some of the worst we've had. And these are only the highlights:

1. My rib eye was done medium rare, my spouse's filet medium. Exactly the opposite of what we'd asked.
2. Our dinner salads arrived AFTER the entree.
3. My wife's vegetable medley arrived 3/4 the way through her entree. Seems the wait staff had confused here vegetable.
4. Had to chase down our wait staff - even when we wanted to pay the bill.

The food was tasty but my ribeye was very fatty.

The music was GREAT. Very talented musicians with a terrific sound.

I asked to see the manager. He arrived, apologized profusely and offered to comp the meal or part of it. My wife and I wanted a nice evening out and refused to let a poor meal and poor service ruin our enjoyment of the music. We paid the entire bill full up (before gratuity $100+) - except for a comped Crème brûlée. This allows us to legitimately complain.

----Our suggestion, eat somewhere else then go have a cocktail and listen to some very good jazz.
