Waiter was great. Service was fine. Filet Mignon? Really? Maybe since this is a phony Australian themed chain restaurant they don't know what the word filet Mignon means. It's the only cut of beef I will eat anymore as it is the least fatty and most tender. Check out the photo of the 'filet' they advertise on tv and their menus. Then order one and hold your plate up to the menu and compare. Luckily you can't taste the picture in the menu but the live one they served me was uhhg. I got the larger filet 8 ounces. Order med well came out well done. It was the scrawniness looking filet I have ever had there and I won't get another. My sister ordered the 6 oz. it looked like a flat piece of sirloin, it tasted like sirloin and was loaded with grease and gristle more like a hamburger. Was very tough. It was NOT a filet. I finally convinced her for what we were paying to tell the waiter and send it back. Waiter agreed her filet had a little more gristle in it than they usual serve (that's because a filet doesn't have gristle sir). They brought another, exactly the same tasteless greasy grisly piece of flat tough sirloin or maybe it was skirt steak. Both her filet and mine looked like they had been sliced in 1/2 sideways and then cooked to death with a little Wesson oil maybe on the grill. Gross. My stomach feels full of grease but mine was definitely better than hers I will say, but that ain't sayin' much folks. I used to love the Outback. That was a long time ago. Been going downhill for a long time. The coconut shrimp is always good if u can handle fried food-we had one order as an appetizer plus a avocado crab stack. It was ok for a chain restaurant and surprised to find it on the menu but, as I said it was ok. They have a sirloin dish in brown rice with roasted veggies my other sister had and it looked very good plus she liked it. Friend had prime rib which she ate all of. Problem is it's a steakhouse and if you order steak, a filet, should be their brightest star. Again. Yuck. Manager came over and brought a bowl of baked potato soup for my sister to eat whil waiting for her second sirloin filet. Or maybe it was skirt filet?
She has to eat gluten free so the soup no way was. The waiter knew this but since the manager is clueless because they only step in to help wait staff when something gets sent back. Let the waiters take care of the problem first. He was doing fine. Anyway I tried the soup because I'm always hungry and always trying to gain weight from good food. The potato soup didn't even look good. You could see some potatoes, cheese, bacon but the soup itself looked like greasy milky flour n water. I tasted it. It was soooooo salty I should have had a stroke or cardiac arrest. Just kidding. I don't think they were trying to kill anyone but dam. I told my sister it tasted like the Great Salt Lake. Been fine if I was a deer. Stick with the seafood and veggies. Tell them to find a new way to cook their sweet potatoes and baked potatoes. How many restaurants serve 'baked' potatoes? I don't know of any. Outback plus I'm sure a majority of establishments choose the Chernobyl Certified Microwave method to radiate their sweet and white potatoes beyond death. They look literally like they have been through a nuclear war before landing on your plate. Mush and just yuck. I guess that's why mom had coupons to go to Outback. They may go back. I won't. Sorry Outback
The only Outback I'll be entering soon will be a Subaru

Horrible experience. Restaurants get busy, it's expected - But we waited almost an hour after we called ahead, and our buzzer didn't even go off when our table was ready - a waitress had to come and find us to let us know a table had opened up. Once we sat down, we weren't provided with menus, silverware, or bread plates but rather had to wait until our meal was brought out (which was another hour later). When our meals finally showed up, half of our orders were wrong. After sending one of the meals back to the kitchen, they brought the same WRONG order back out. 3 out of 8 of us were seriously disappointed with our meals (even the bread on the burgers were stale). My father-in-law had a talk with a manager and felt as though his complaints were unheard. Our poor waiter got blamed for the kitchen's mistakes, and the manager didn't do much to resolve the issues. Needless to say, we won't be coming back.
