DONT BOTHER. The service is so bad it doesn't matter how good the food could be. Waited 45 minutes for a SALAD and there were 4 tickets ahead of us. We said forget it. Drinks sucked. Great atmosphere but don't even bother. You'll just be hugely disappointed. So much potential... New management needed immediately.

I had hoped that the bad reviews were incorrect but they weren't. The grounds were beautiful. The day was perfect. The waitress was unprofessional and the menu was extremely limited. After being there for nearly 20 minutes and still not receiving the waters that we ordered, we left. This place doesn't deserve your hard earned money!

Terribly Disappointed. My wife bought a living social coupon for this place. Called in advance for a reservation. Phone rang and rang and went to voicemail. Should have been a hint of things to come. Called again about an hour later, they took the reservation. I can't comment on the gardens. Our reservation was for 6:15 and it was pitch black walking from a side street to the restaurant. No lights at all, I felt uncomfortable walking my family through there. Came up to the restaurant and couldn't find the entrance. Started walking around to the other side, and saw junk and trash all around the outside, up against the building. Made it inside, and there was no hostess. Someone at the bar said they'd be with us in a few minutes, as she was trying to figure out how to fix someone's bill. There was another employee sitting at the bar on a laptop. She eventually got up and walked back into the kitchen. The place was empty except for one table. Five minutes later the hostess came up and asked us if we wanted to sit upstairs, and we agreed. We took the stairs, and she said she was taking the elevator and would meet us at the top. We got up there and she was nowhere to be found. We waited by the elevator and she eventually came walking around and said, "your menus are on the table over there" and pointed to the other side of the restaurant. There were 4 tables of 2 upstairs. Everything was eerily quiet. Nobody looked happy at all. My wife didn't even want to sit on the chair because it was so stained. The decor was tacky at best. Certainly outdated and definitely filthy. The menus didn't resemble the ones they have posted online. We sat there for at least 10 minutes. No sign of a waitress anywhere. My wife looked at me and I knew what she was thinking. I said, "you want to leave?" Yes. Now. On our way out, we didn't see a single employee, just the look of utter despair and disappointment on the faces of the other diners (seriously, nobody was talking at all - they all seemed to be jealous that we were walking out). We took the elevator downstairs, and had to hold our breath, it smelled so disgusting. No chance at all we'll ever go back to that dump.

Fantastic! I was a little worried about having my wedding ceremony and reception here because there are some pretty nasty reviews on Google, but Julie and Madaline were wonderful to work with and did everything they could to make my wedding a wonderful event. I don't know who has a vendetta against the Pagoda, but those awful reviews are anything but the truth. The food was really good, if I had to do everything over I would still choose the Pagoda.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Called four times over two days trying to make a reservation for a nice sunset dinner with SO, all I got was a very loud answering machine message telling me the hours of operation(which I was calling within). We were in Norfolk anyway for date night so we stopped by only to find out the place had been rented out for the entire weekend for a wedding, no notification on the website, anywhere else, and as I said, no answer on the phone. From reading the reviews on here the food and service are sub-par anyway. Unless you are willing to shell out the money to rent the entire place I would avoid this restaurant as they don't seem to care about individual customers.
