06/07/2016 7:22 pmThe pasta tasted like it was microwaved out of a bag. I tried the ravioli, seashells Alfredo and seafood tetrazzini and all were bad. The sauces were bland and I think they came out of a can. The view in the back is great and I enjoyed the experience of eating outside on the lake but the food was a huge disappointment and over priced. The sangria was bad too! The service was poor too .. The host was putting his tie on in front of us at the host station and he pointed us to our table instead of walking us. I got the impression that the ownership and management are lazy and take their great location for granted. |

12/17/2015 2:37 amMy ex-wife loved this place, it has been around for ever. Even though it has moved a couple of times since the 70's. I find the food over all to be cheap knockoff of Italian food but the true bright spot is the Shrimp pizza and their porta salads. If I rated this just on those two items it would be a 4 star rating. |

07/06/2015 3:12 amPaisans has been my go to restaurant for 30 years. but the last two times I have visited, the cleanliness of the restaurant is a problem. Dirty table, Dirty windows, shared with the manager, he laughed and said he would look into it. Was not the response I expected. Food was good, Sangria is too expensive though. |

01/29/2015 8:32 pmI have never been disappointed with the food at Paisan's! I always order the spicy cheese bread (to die for), a small Porta salad (stupendous) and one of Paisan's amazing and unique pizzas. I don't know if it's the cornstarch they use under the pizza dough, or the ovens, or the recipe in combo with the rest. But the pizzas are uniquely Madison/Paisan's, which I have enjoyed since 1966, when Paisan's was near the corner of Park Street and University Avenue. It's where I learned to love beer with my pizza at age 18. (Since this is a university town, there will be a constant turnover in waitstaff, so previous complaints here about inattentive service is crybaby stuff from spoiled big city snots.) Don't miss the Madison experience of PAISAN'S!! |
